anolyzing the main site

Post » Thu May 21, 2009 1:09 pm

alot of times websites like the current fallout-on-line.com reveal a few things about the game itself. now im not the sherlock holmes when it comes to these things but i bet some of you are so does anyone wanna anolyse and tell us a few things that might be hinted from the site? :)
of course if Chris comes and says that it has absolutely nothing to do with the game itself because he hasnt even seen it or played it u can just lock the thread ;)

a few things i picked up:
-first off, the song is from ma rainey but i cant figure out what song it is. i thought looking at the lyrics might say something but i doubt it :p
-there's a tv! i know the image in the tv has been used before but it seems to be picking up transmissions. maybe there's something like the radio channels in F3?
-there's a light bulb (spelling?) but i cant quite figure out the energy source.
-there are carvings in the table with "the master lives" and "<3 harold" which i dont get so you're free to explain it to me =)
-picture of a two headed dog on a leash, possible companion?
-picture of a huge windmill or maybe a propeller because there are airplanes there? if its a propeller it seems to be made into a windmill so there's plenty of energy :p
-the building on the post card at the end is shown two more times and seems to be a point of interest for the character. at first i thought it was an oil rig but it seems to be some sort of solar power plant.
-the character seems to be somewhat heavily armored but i didnt see a pip boy...

discuss/add info! :p In gaming terms... Life's a die, then you bich.

the master thing could be a hint some part of the master survived the events of Fallout 1 and now returns with a new super mutant army, or there both maybe just hype bait to lur in fans of the old games :3

that and/or a concept for a enemy critter.

most likely just a example of a local we might find in the game

same as above

could be a random survivor or a member of one f the factions that might be in the game.

As explained "The Master" was from Fallout 1. When I see things like this the only thing I can think of is the fact that the game has multiple endings. Since gamesas gave us that option we were able to enjoy that luxury. This would not mean though that whatever outcome we decided to choose is not the overall theme of what they want to convey or even pursue. Perhaps they chose to have "The Master" live. Yes, I agree with some of you naysayers that this would have not been the appropriate ending. It's been a while since I played the first one and plan on replaying it before FOOL releases, but I'm getting off track...

As to the "<3 Harold" reference. If you can remember, Harold was the Mayor of the mutant town. He had the tree growing out of his head. I think the towns name was Gecko, but don't quote me. Perhaps the "love" could refer to the fact that, along with help from the wanderer, Harold was able to establish negotiations with the town of Vault City. I can't fully remember what the full negotiations were but it was something along the lines of Vault City assisting in the repair of the Gecko reactor so that it would stop leaking radiation into the ground and affecting the drinking water of Vault City. Kind of a 2 way compromise without a scuffle between the 2 towns taking place. Perhaps if FOOL takes place after the previous games then the town could be flourishing now which would make Harold a great leader.

Sry for the long explanation, and you may have already known all of this.

Here's the deal:

While watching the teaser site over and over again, I noticed I couldn't help but to be reminded of Nikola Tesla's Wardenclyffe Tower project when examining the recurring art about the tower-building. There are many differences, but it especially reminded me of the popular picture with the building pictured in front of the large tower (which it, as I understand, isn't). In the art the building is around the tower, and seems substantially larger than the real one.

Anyhow, I was wondering if this just might hint on the area used in V13?

For the record, Tesla's Wardenclyffe Tower project was based on Long Island, New York.

Additionally, here's a link to the Wikipedia article with the pictures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wardenclyffe_Tower

That's copied from another topic I made a while ago.

Hmm, actually you can be right. There is one way of killing the master in which you just talk him into arming the self destruct for the base, then you leave him and watches the base explode BUT you never see him die in person. What if he had a little tunnel or something or actually managed to survive the explosion by some miraculous event.

A bit far fetched but not impossible :P Image

If there is going to be windmills there has to be an easter egg about William Kamkwamba who build a windmill when he was 14 years old that saved his village.

well what if the overseer chair he sat into was connected to a tunnel that automatically just launches him away at his command :P Through a (big) tunnel :P Image

This reminds me of... Van Buren.

In the famous tech-demo, the onerseer's chair -thingy had a door on it's backside.

Now, to me it seemed like The Master was a megaentity, that had "infected" the whole of LA Vault, and as such, was ubiquitous in there, even to the point of being biomechanically connected to the computers. I don't think it would've been much of a trick for him to grow an escape mechanism, like an additional brain, somewhere safe. At the moment of crisis he could've ejected his consciousness to this escape-pod brain, and, well, escape.

Furthermore, the writing on the table on the teaser site. Do you think it is written in a reverential manner, or in a warning manner?

Harold is a special type of FEV mutant and an important character in the Fallout story, who originated from Vault 29. He left the Vault in 2090, and lived in the Hub's Oldtown around 2161, in Los around 2208, in Gecko around 2241, and in the Oasis around 2277. Thus he met the Vault Dweller, the Chosen One and the Lone Wanderer. He is the only character to appear in all 3 major Fallout installments.

Yeah....
