I'm with you on that. Perhaps a poll is in order, although I doubt that many people care, most people don't sign in anonymously.

I would at least like to hear a reason for why this was removed. Was it really hurting anyone, or interfering with mods' duties? The only thing I can think of is when people occasionally make spam posts saying "LOL OMG A DEV MUST BE READING CUZ AN ANONYMOUS USER IS HERE," and if that's the case, it's really not big enough of an issue to warrant taking away such a useful feature.

Yeah it was a habit clicking the anonymous box every time. Its just not the same. I hope the feature is brought back soon.

Might want to cut that out, they don't want you talking about them, its one of their rules you see. The first two in fact.

In fact, the mods don't want you talking about them either. They despise them.

I am. I valued that option very much!

It was one of the reasons I liked this forum. Though yes there are still many other reasons, I want this one back.

The mods/devs/admins could see through the anonymous tag, so I see no reason for it to be removed. Only they need know who I am and what I am reading!

Members who signed in but checked the "Sign in as anonymous" as they don't want to be seen. That feature has now been removed so the only way to look at the forums without your name being shown at the bottom of the page is to do so without signing in - you are listed as a guest.

Even the moderators have lost the ability to be sneaky.

Just a quick question, have devs also lost the sign in anonymously?

I really want to see this feature come back. As it stands now, I'll have to do all by browsing as a Guest and only log in when I post (then immediately log out again). Why would they remove such a feature? I don't see who it was hurting.

I just noticed this myself. If I remember correctly I always had anonymous log-in ticked when helping members of the forums because there would be an entourage of posters checking my profile to see if I was online to PM me questions about Morrowind or Oblivion, a few admitted this. Soon as I logged in anonymously the profile stalking stopped thereafter. svcks that it's gone, so guess it's log-out when I'm not actually going to post.

I still want to know why this was removed. Is it just a crazy coincidence that the ability was removed at the same time this topic was made? Or was it purposely removed? If so, why would the IT have to look into re-implementing it? These are the questions that keep me up at night.
