My anooying problem...

Post » Fri Sep 30, 2011 12:42 pm

Ok, so my problem is this. I tend to get excited about the game like everyone else which is normal. I guess. But I have a bad tendency to let MINOR issues and critics put me off, I know I will buy the game but it just gives me a bad view point.

For example, someone says how bad the combat is like the nerdist magazine article or w.e it was called and when I play I will instantly start over anaylisying the problem. GARH its so annoying because I just wan't to enjoy the game which I have always done with fallout and TES alike.

I also read to much into it ^-^ probably becuase I want it, but they minute I hear something bad it makes me feel bad, I think I just wan't to game to be perfect to much.

Any tips? Reminders of how amazing it is? Idk, help me if you can :) (Btw, bad spelling I know, I wrote this late sorry.)

You just gotta ignore em and keep thinking to yourself, "I need to try the game first, and see how I like it."

Stop reading media about it? Seriously once October 11 comes round I'm going to stop reading anything Skyrim related. I'll probably still stalk the forums and stuff but I won't read any complaints or new bits of media on it.

If criticism of your favorite products get you down, it's time to leave product forums altogether. People tend to nitpick every last detail. If you are sensitive to it, you may even end up not liking a product that you would normally find great.

So stay away from forums like this if you want to avoid that. And drink lots of beer like the other guy said.

See, after you rub the lotion into it, you gotta leave it uncovered or it'll just flare up again.

Maybe take a step back from the forums for a bit? Hard, I know, when you're excited, but the forums can be very negative and critical - mostly because they're also full of people who want Skyrim to be their perfect game :).

If you stick to the more mainstream magazine and online previews you'll find that while they're not wholly uncritical they're still more optimistic and balanced than the forums.

I learned a long time ago not to listen to the opinions of critics. Half the time they're pessimistic [censored]s, or end up being payed off to say nice or bad things, usually both of those. The only opinion a person can trust is their own, and maybe the opinion of the person closest to them.

You don't need plenty of it, just a couple of Chimay Bleue or Rochefort 10 and you're drunk :hubbahubba:

I believe beer is the answer.

[Insert generic Morrowhiner comment about how bad Skyrim is going to be since it's not Morrowind] :frog:

On topic: I think you just have to make due. I don't really know how to help you change the way you think. Only option would be to isolate yourself from any Skyrim info and judge the game based on your own impressions.

Solution: Stop reading magazine articles. Stop reading the forums. Go watch the trailer again.

Heh, just looked at that article. A 'games journalist' who can't be bothered to get more than 10 minutes hands-on time at a public exhibition? Something tells me he wasn't interested in covering the game for his readers anyway - no wonder he was negative about it :D.
