Another Elder Scrolls Book

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 3:56 pm

Hi there!

I was just lurking on amazon, hoping I could find some Elder Scrolls stuff. A search result came up with this:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/6130047479

It's titled "Development history of The Elder Scrolls series", has 108 pages and was published by Alphascript Publishing just some days ago. Any idea how I could find out more? I have absolutely no clue of what could be in there ...

Many thanks in advance! :embarrass:

"High quality content by wikipedia articles!"

Sounds like part original content, part copy & paste from wikipedia....

And $57 is a bit steep for something that's a bunch of wiki articles....

Tell the people!

Hell, I'd be writing TES documentaries if I thought I could make that much per book. It seems dodgy. D'you think we should alert Bethesda?

So this "book" is just a compilation of Wikipedia articles? How can they even do that?

Yeah, they should probably be alerted - that whole book is just way sketchy.

How can they sell wikipedia articles?

Well hold on there, we don't really know that it is wikipedia articles, that was just speculation, what we need is proof then we can start pointing blaming fingers.

EDIT: Scratch that, just checked the link, start pointing :poke:

Quick question, how does one call the great three headed guardian?

You must sacrifice someone and offer some nightshade.

...Oops, wrong ritual.

Go to Members in the top right-hand corner of your screen and click on it. Then, search for Gstaff and message him to tell him to check this thread and link out.

Eh? You mean being notified of a copy-paste book is a waste of time? Or their releasing two official Elder Scrolls novels is a waste of time? If it's the former, then there's really nothing that Bethesda can do about it; it's not their work that's being infringed upon, after all. If it's the latter, then you realize they're contracting out to Greg Keyes to do those books, right? It's not like even an eighth of their development team is going to be slaving away on novels. The only ones actually at Bethesda who are going to be even somewhat involved with the book are Pete Hines, Todd Howard, and Kurt Kuhlman, all of which are there to make sure Keyes will be coloring within the lines. And they're not exactly doing the grunt-work around the office as it is.

I think he spoke without thinking, or spoke before the thought fully formed at least. But yeah, I doubt that the average person truly understands that, Guy, weather they're gamers or not. So if the books turn out rubbish (not likely, as Keyes is an excellent writer) than it'll reflect badly on gamesas and may even impact their future sales.
