When the "<" and ">" tags are added into a message it removes the content and the tags, allowing blank posts: see below.

To expand: Also using these tags in the title of a thread will make that thread have a hidden title. Also with the thread name "<"">" and content: "<"">" it will redirect the user to the homepage when they click on it. Although you know that already - deleting my threads!
