Another Fallout game at E3?

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 11:12 am

So it's been over two years since we've had a new Fallout game and I know we're all starving for more right? :fallout:

Do you think that there's any chance that we'll see even a teaser trailer for the next Fallout game? I'm assuming it'll probably be for next-gen consoles. Teasing it at this years E3, and a Fall 2014 release would be nice.

What do you think?

Hoping for at least a small teaser, and that is probably the most I am expecting to see of Fallout at E3. Perhaps we may not see anything for Fallout at E3.

Why do you say that? They abruptly stopped all development on Skyrim to work on "another project." The only titles gamesas actually develops are The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. The stuff gamesas produces? They send a few people over to the dev company to negoiate payment, and then stick their logo on the end product.

Hence, the only other title gamesas that gamesas is working on and can announce at E3 would be Fallout 4.

Why would you think one of their biggest cash cows isnt on their minds?

BGS went through great lengths to secure the rights to the Fallout franchise. I highly doubt that they would have gone through all that legal trouble to simply forget about it.

I would be willing to bet that they are farther along in dev of Fallout 4 than you may think.

Think about it, they made a statement that they are now no longer working on Skyrim because a project that they were in pre-development stages is now their main focus. They said they needed the whole team because they are ready to start on full development to create their biggest and best blah blah blah.

This could mean a new title but remember, BGS not Bethesda Softworks was the one who said this. The ONLY games(IIRC) that BGS has made/ developed since 2006ish is Elder Scrolls games and Fallout.

My money is on Fallout.

The "other game" that your talking about is most likely "The Evil Within", which is not a BGS title but a Bethesda Softworks Studios game. They are 2 separate teams.

That sounds like the one i heard about. And they're not the ones making this? good deal, more chance of a fallout. I've been waiting long enough.

BGS isnt working on it. Its being done by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tango_Gameworks and published by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bethesda_Softworks.

The guy who created the Resident Evil series( when it was still a good game) is the one whos leading the project I believe.

Also bethesda at e3 would be stupid not to do a trailer or promo for their next project at e3. I believe it will be fallout 4 though it could easily be Elder scrolls VI. It could also be another game but that is highly doubtful.

65% chance of a tiny acknowledgement, nothing more if development started in January (which I suspect it did). Spike VGA in December is 99.99% sure we get the unveil though.

Not a chance in hell of that happening this soon after Skyrim.

IIRC Bethesda has expressed an interest in alternating the development cyle of their two franchises. Adding another to the mix, and that just makes the length between each game even longer than it already is, and TES fans are already wanting another one now...less than a month after development stopped on Skyrim. You may or may not like Fallout, but think about how us Fallout fans feel about the situation. We haven't had a Fallout game from Beth since what, 2008? it's been about 2 years now since New Vegas was released, and there's still no (official) word on any thing in the near future.

No, Beth is not working on a new TES, nor is it working on a new series altogether.

Fallout at E3? I would hope, but I''m not counting on it. Still too soon to announce anything like that. Probably later in the year. Spike maybe?

There is going to be a lot of hype for the new consoles. You would think Beth would want to ride that wave, as it is almost free publicity. Announce a game of yours as a launch title for new consoles, then nearly every time someone blabs about new console they mention your game as a launch title and it basically free marketing.

Free marketing yeah, but I'd much rather Fallout 4 fly under the radar...far, far under the radar. The reason I say this is because I say what happened with Skyrim. I do not want a repeat of Skyrim...ever.

I understand the idea of flying under the radar, but how is skyrim a example of what shouldn't happen?

Indeed. While not their best, it was a very good effort. Still makes it weird to want it to fly under.

Plan for the worse, that way if something good happens to you, it's that much sweeter, and if something bad happens you're prepared.

Was a joke more than anything I wouldn't expect it before next year either. But an announcement would be Ok.
