I've seen this issue everywhere. On IGN, on Gamespot, on the Nexus forums, on Yahoo Answers, on Steam, and on here. I bought the Legendary Edition on Steam 2 days ago and haven't installed anything. No mods, no unofficial patches. Nothing. I start up the game (a new one of course) and the first thing that hits me smack dab in the face was the lip sync bug. I've now reinstalled the game 3 times just to make sure it wasn't my fault. I can't even get to the character creation screen because this bug turns me off completely. I'm quite angry actually, and I don't know who to be angry at. Myself or Bethesda. I reluctantly bought this. I was going to wait for when it went on sale, but my friend went on and on about how much fun he was having. He has 28 hours in, so I don't know if he has the bug and it doesn't bother him, or he doesn't have it at all. Well I do. And while I can't blame Bethesda for my reluctant and maybe even hasty purchase, I can blame them for IGNORING this. Like I said, I've seen this problem come up in several sites on the net, some of them dating back to MARCH. I looked at the pinned Steam Updates topic, and the last post was on Match 20. It is now July 2 and still no fix or word from Bethesda about this. It just added fuel to the fire to me. I'm so infuriated I'm seeing red >:[ Fix this NOW. I know you people are aware of this! From another thread here http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1457831-regarding-the-lip-sync-bug/ it seems that this bug is a result from you (whoever is responsible for this and reading this) changing something regarding the facial animations. You did that intentionally and probably knew this was going to happen! (Now here is where I begin to be controversial) Maybe you changed that (whatever that is) for a reason and sacrificed the lip sync for it. This was done intentionally and now, 4 months later it still hasn't been fixed. I want to play this, I want to enjoy it, and I want to buy your next game. But if this is how you treat paying customers then to hell with you and your games! I'm DONE. I have several Bethesda games, but this one is the LAST. The most ironic part about this is the Skyrim Script Extender only works on the latest Steam version, as well as many other mods. So even if I found a way to revert back I couldn't even use some mods. But is that really ironic? Well I don't know...mods are the least of my problems.
Edit: After posting this I decided to go back in game and actually try to bare with the lip sync problem and get my character created. But now it seems along with the bad lip sync the animations are slow. The part where the prisoners get out of the cart are slow and even when that horse thief runs off it's slow. The entire game feels sluggish. Just looked up a walkthrough video of the game on release day. It was smooth and well paced with accurate lip sync. My game which is a fresh install and running at 60 fps is sluggish in comparison. And that's not all. When I finally got the the character creation screen, the eyes of my character are messed up. Like he has a lazy eye or something, because one eyeball is lower than the other. Ugh..why'd I even pay for this? Why did Bethesda release this patch!?
