Another [LIST] of Morrowind Tutorials

Post » Sat Jul 24, 2010 7:46 pm

Other than that, they are not available that I know of, except where your mod detecting skills can root them out:

- SriKandi's Item Index - SriKandi's Skinning tutorial.
- Calislahn's Housebuilding Tutorial
- Calislahn's Dialogue Tutorial (Both are on her site but for me the PDFs are corrupted).
- Sir Luthor's Race Creation Tutorial.

SirLuthor's tutorial is still available from his site;
http://www.freewebs.com/sirluthor/downloads.htm

And Silver_Falcon's Alpha tutorial is available from Elricm;

Thanks, Ronin49, Trey, OldeCowe. Been asleep at the wheel on this one lately but will get back to updating it before too long. Some cosmetic changes today. ;)

I've started adding descriptions to the list of tutorials. List still isn't finished (if "finished" is even possible.) Contributions (descriptions, comments, recommendations) always welcome . . . if I haven't responded or added a tutorial, it's just because I'm getting there slowly. :embarrased:

An update:

1. Added half a dozen tutorials to this list
2. Added some descriptions
3. Organized the spreadsheet so the list and the spreadsheet I'm making (which folks will be able to download) are a closer match. (There are 130 tutorials on the spreadsheet. :dead:)
4. Uploaded SriKandi's stuff to TesSource and will see about hosting it elsewhere; the Planet unfortunately doesn't like my uploads. :shakehead:

If someone else would be willing to upload them to PES, I'd be grateful. You can get them from existing links or the rapidshare links Ronin49 kindly provided above, which should still be working.

5. Still to do: two or three major forums still to finish mining for stuff . . . . not to mention everything else I've missed.

New links! :D

http://tessource.net/files/file.php?id=6845
http://tessource.net/files/file.php?id=6847

More suggestions very much welcome, even if I seem to be ignoring them--I may just be quite slow in getting around to looking at them. :poke:

Edit: Totally rewrote this post. Twice.

A small bump to this . . . Also, does anyone use http://www.psychodogstudios.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4793 to texture? Nifskope plus an image program? Pros and cons--when does one use it? (If one doesn't have a UV map?) Would MW modders need this or is this primarily suited for Oblivionites?

Thanks to anyone who can inform me. :)

I'll try to add a few more from the spreadsheet to the list today and tomorrow.

Did you get the requested help and specifically what did you need put up at the Planet, preferably with a link?

Thank you. The below are all PDFs and you are supposed to now be able to upload them to the tutorials section as mods; if there are any problems I suppose the best thing to do is to contact me and I will contact APY.

These things can go to the Planet if folks could lend a hand:

SriKandi's http://tessource.net/files/file.php?id=6845
- Description on site at TESSource

- SriKandi's http://tessource.net/files/file.php?id=6847- Description on site at TESSource

- SriKandi's http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/files/tuts/dialoguetut.zip- Description on site at TESSource

- Calislahn's http://www.calislahnsmods.co.uk/tutorials/housebuilding.pdf

- Calislahn's http://www.calislahnsmods.co.uk/tutorial.htm

also since Lady Eternity's site has closed . . .

- Lady Eternity http://www.ageinc.com/Morrowind/Thanos_Tower/Download/LE_max_physique.pdf

- Lady Eternity http://www.ageinc.com/Morrowind/Thanos_Tower/Download/LE_max_segmented.pdf

If whoever manages to do this could PM me with links or post them, I can add them to the thread and the spreadsheet. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Kateri, so glad it was helpful. Yeah, I think that seems like a useful technique too . . .

Thanks, SciMuse. The mods have told me that if when this list is done and if when it gets hosted somewhere, they can put it on the list of pinned threads, so perhaps that will help some. Meanwhile it's good to know it's of use to folks--a good incentive for me to keep working on it instead of procrastinating until 2009. ;)

I've taken the liberty to host decompiled ( plain HTML ;) ) versions of Srikandi's TESCS Item Index, Dialogue Tutorial and Skinning Tutorial on my http://tommyshideout.net/. You'll find them in the Guides section.

ThreadWhisperer Some Thoughts on Packaging Your New Mod
- a walkthrough on options for putting together resource files and packing them up for uploading

The link for this one simply comes back to the thread. After some searching, I was not able to come up with a working link. Not even on TW's website..... Maybe I am not looking hard enough...

This is great news. When I got the time I was going to see if I could figure out how to do that. I figured it should have been easy . . . figures that you know how. Thanks for taking some initiative to keep these things easily available. :)

HeyYou . . . apologies for messing up a link--now I have a glimpse of how it must be to maintain a list. I will try to put the correct link in, and glad Ronin49 found you what you needed.

In any list, errors are bound to creep in. What you have done so far is WONDERFUL!! These are resources that need to remain available to modders, and I greatly (VERY GREATLY) appreciate all your hard work.

Thank You Very Much! :goodjob:

It is easy. :)

Microsoft offers a free program that does the work with a mouse click or two. It is called the HTML Help Workshop and you can get it here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/htmlhelp/html/hwMicrosoftHTMLHelpDownloads.asp

I'm glad I accidentally stumbled across this thread--don't know how I missed it! Lots of good links to useful information. The just-fiddle-with-it-until-you-figure-it-out method can be fun sometimes, but it does get old. Thanks for all this effort.

Should I upload all the tutorials docs I have? I would think if someone took the time to make them they wouldn't mind them being available. I have several max tutorials for morrowind as well.
I'd upload them Trey, the Morrowind section looks a bit bare.

Excellent resource, Larissa Mem!

Belated thanks Trey for anything you've added . . . overwhelming quantities of RL have put additions and updates to this list on indefinite hold.

A small bump though for new folks . . . might still be useful. I added the rather interesting thread on http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=615273

Also, Gaticus designed a macro that would allow folks who have Photoshop to create icons more quickly. You can find it on his website, http://gaticus.iwireweb.com/iconify/index.php, along with a quick explanation about how to make icons and use the tool.
