Another weekend of amazing PVP

Post » Tue Mar 18, 2014 9:03 am

Hats off to ZOS. You guys nailed it in the PVP department. Cyrodil is so addicting that I find myself just wanting to play there instead of the rest of the game. (not entirely, but yea...it's very fun)

I did two kinds of PVP this weekend. One was with my guild and the other was either just roaming around solo or with a few people. Both types were amazing. Had some pretty epic battles.

I agree. I cannot wait for the starting gun and to get it on for real.

So true. The funny thing, my GF has very little experience with MMORPGs and PvP and did not like it so far. But after Sunday afternoon passed in Cyrodill she asked me "How do I make a character that is better at PvP"? This says a lot about how good actually it must be too hook somebody with almost no previous interest whatsoever...

I made it about 10 minutes in Cyrodil (after completing the tutorial) before I lost interest and left. Maybe I'll give it more time in release to see if it grabs me, but PvP in MMORPGs has always failed to keep me interested.

I agree, had a fantastic time, not sure which is more fun, attacking a castle, or pouring oil on the heads of attackers :P

Agreed. It's simply too good and it can be perfect if ZOS fix some issues (lag) and add more content.

I think the stealthing part needs work for players who are higher lvl than others so they can see them better. Riding away from a fort and got hit by 3 stealthed players and I'm at least 10+ lvls higher. I should be able to see them from at least 30 feet away. For instance if i'm stealthed and moving around and lvl 50 guards can see me why can't I see enemy players like that? Guards can see me from like 50-100 feet away depending on if I get close to one of their banners or whatever. Other than that I think snipe needs some work done because stealthed and using it doesn't seem to crit more than like 2% of the time. Testing it on npc animals and imperials I might have taken out 2-3 wolves like that but the rest came at me. Sometimes I was lucky enough or just far enough away to get off 2 snipes but thing like trolls still kill me. I think when players die, unless they are actually lvl 50 they should be able to use adequate soul gems instead of the game showing # of grand soul gems. Maybe give players the ability to use a adequate soul gem on something like fighting npcs and not players.

Regarding the soul gems - it's strange as in the previous beta I was able to use my level ones (went into Cyrodiil with 30 of them just for this purpose). I think forcing everybody to use Grand Soul Gems is either a bug or a very bad design decision (it will prevent any res before you hit 50)

I somewhat agree with the stealthing part with the except of certain races that are in 5 medium armor. Khajit and Bosmer in 5 medium armor should not be able to be seen at all unless you're right ontop of the person, not matter what level you are.

Not really, I bought 10 empty grand soulgems and filled them up in 10 minutes killing lvl 50 animals, should work on guards as well, if you don't want to take a detour from the frontlines, and could res just fine.

I don't agree with you on the stealthing, being of higher level you are still at an advantage, with potentially more skills and morphs. Besides that, doesn't the pvp buffing pretty much place you on the same level?

You're right, forgot you can fill them up while in Cyrodiil :) I take back my complaint!

Got lvl 10 then went into RvR on the 1st night. Stayed there all weekend. At one point I logged out and when I came back I was back in PvE land. I was like "WTF is this place" while spamming the enter Cyrodiil button. I was scared and confused but once I got back in I was right as rain. ;)

Agreed on the PvP. I found the scaling to be very good. My level 11 DK Imperial going toe to toe with level 20 characters and getting them down to 10% health before I become a nice corps. That seems good to me.
