[wipz] Antares' Creatures: Cecaelia

Post » Thu Jun 10, 2010 2:46 am

Hello!

I am following with interest the new creatures made by Westly in his "http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1082062-wipz-melisandes-menagerie/" where someone mentioned this creature, and I liked the idea, and started working on it.

http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/730/ddddvd.jpg

Whenever done, I'll place a few of them in game, bur it'll be also a resource, so everyone can modify it as they like.

I am looking for head, face and hair for it.

Any other suggestion is welcome. :)

Neat! Are you going to use Dreugh Textures for them? Personally I wouldn't be sure, since I doubt female Dreugh would have briasts, but it's your choice.

I would be happy to help you in what ever way that you might need with this project; I need diversions from my other projects every now and then to keep a healthy modding perspective :) . So just let me know how I might aid you in your endeavour here (I would be glad to do so).

Great Job on her so far :trophy: :trophy: :trophy:

Nice idea!!! ;) Concerning rigging it would be easier if you make the tentacles straight down by default and let them be bent by animation lateron!!! ;)

It looks like it has already been rigged and skinned TDW. :)

Can't wait to see the finished product, edited dreugh animations would be pretty cool, maybe add onto them with animated hands and that sort of stuff?

Here is a next http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/5130/52018113.jpg of how it could look like (hair is from the mod Mandamus Alienor Hairstyle.)

good! I'd like to find some hair I could use that can fit this creature and maybe some better texture for the tentacles. The texture of the body, is from your Extra High Resolution Female Textures for Better Bodies :) but if you have more marine texture, I'd like to have a look at them :)

It looks like it has already been rigged and skinned TDW. :)

Yes, it is, since I am using the tentacles of the dreugh, and the body of better bodies. Now I am animating it.

Amazing! I'm not sure if the head is just a place-holder, but if you're going to go ahead and use the BB mesh, you might want to think of getting another face that matches up better with the body? This is unless you're going to change it :)

Oh my. That looks phenomenal. How does it look in motion?

Also, just a thought, but the current hairstyle looks like it will clip through her body like nobody's business when she's swimming and the like. Perhaps a shorter hairstyle would work better?

EDIT: I don't know if the current textures are just placeholders, but I think the body will need its own texture so it can blend more seamlessly with the tentacles. As for the coloration, I like it. Maybe once Melisande's Menagerie is released, you can borrow the Sea Witch's shell necklace as well :D

EDIT II: Alternately, you could go the "monstrous" route and use AnOldFriend'shttp://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1056503-wip-squid-face-guy-oo/ to max out the number of tentacles in play :P

St.Jiub already beat you :P I don't know if AOF is allowing it to be used as a resource, though I would love to see it on the Cecaelia.

Animated hair? Seriously? Wow, I never thought my mesh would be clean enough to be properly animated (I am not exactly good at optimizing meshes :whistling: ), this is fantastic!!

I love the look of this creature! I you want to use my hairstyle for the final version of this creature (or any other lol) feel free to do it, but if it is a just a placeholder that's fine too. ^_^
(I would send you the original texture files if I could, but I don't have ithem here unfortunately)

In any case, really excellent work!

Wow, very cool, Arcimaestro Anteres, molto benne (I only know a handful of Italian words, so please forgive me for spelling errors).

Now I am animating it.

 I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Wonderful. Would like to see her in a shell top, though, even if a minimal Avatar style one.

:jaw drop:

Woah!

Reminds me of that proof-of-concept for physicked hair someone posted a while back... mmm, physicked hair. :wistful sigh:

Maybe animated mesh or texture could create the illusion of the chill Solstheim winds ruffling the Snow Bear's fur...

Looks great! Love the new animations! The tentacle slap looks a little silly, though I'm sure it'll look better in-game.

IMO, the tentacles look too rigid. Is there any chance to increase the polygon number of tentacles and add some extra bones to them for smoother animation?

It is possible, even though I try to keep less polygons and bones, to have a better perfomance.

I'll upload a new video, with the whole animation in game, and we'll see how it looks.
