[ RELz] Antares' Tribunal Main Quest

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:01 pm

This mod, is an alternative Tribunal Main Quest. I used all the original quests, but changed them to fit the new plot:
More than 400 years have passed since the Tribunal (Vivec, Almalexia and Sotha Sil), have lost their connection with the source of their divinity, the Heart of Lorkhan, and their powers diminish.
Mehrunes Dagon, the daedric prince of destruction, who invaded Mournhold 1300 years ago, and was banished by Almalexia and Sotha Sil, is to return.

TO START THE MAIN QUEST
Go to Ebonheart. There is a female breton mage, named Asciene Rane. She may transport you to Mournhold. Once there, head to the Temple Reception, and talk to Fedris Hler, the Temple steward.

DISCLAIMER:
you may play this mod even if you have already completed the original Main Quest because most of the Npcs, creatures, and places, have been made anew.
If you have already found some quest items (Barilzar's Mazed Band, Trueflame and Hopesfire), with this mod, they'll turn to common enchanted items. You have to find the new ones during this new main quest.

Antares... you are, without a doubt, one of my favorite modders.

Who else has given us the ability to actually PLAY as a guard by arresting folks? Who else gave us real powers as the members and leaders of the guilds and factions we join? Who else made it so that we could walk into a shop, pay some drakes, and ORDER the things we want?

Nobody! Nobody else does...

... and that's the point. Morrowind wouldn't be half the game it is without Antares... and this?

This feels like how Tribunal -should- have played out.

Now all I want is to take my goddess wife back, raise an army, and drive all the outlanders out of Morrowind as promised!

This is awesome looking, a definite must-have!!! You could give a full-fledged commercial company (yes, even like bethesda) a run for their money with the things you come up with.

Apart from some harmless animation errors earlier, I'm getting a certain error after pursuing Myn into the Deadlands, during loading of the Basilica.
"Trying to set short 0 in script TribunalMain when there are only 0 local shorts."
The game then promptly crashes, so I'm stuck in Oblivion for now. :whistling:

I had the same error occur after the death of Sotha Sil, when I mistakenly tried to Almsivi intervention my way back up. The long way worked fine!
Any ideas?

I thought about doing similar mod, but i wasn't able to do living Sotha Sil. So, If I will try to do this once again, could I use this? Also, could I ask for permission to translate?

anything I made is also to be used as modder resource.
If you translate it, let me know, so I can add a link to the translated version at its PES page.
Let me know also if you make a mod with Sotha Sil. Just curious to see what can be made. :)

by the way, TRYeti wrote some excellent dialogue for Sotha Sil in this mod....

Really, thank you Maestro. Rather than modifying the game, you have a talent for finding ways to complete the experience.

I don't think any of those modify the Tribunal Mainscript.
I reinstalled the animkit, but no way to see if it worked or anything.

The new download can't locate the file, too.
Edit: Oh, and if I recall correctly, Trueflame hurts the user, not the target.

About the TribunalMain script, it is a script that disable/enalbe teleport and levitation in Mournhold and in the Clockwork City. So, I guess a mod that influences the teleport may change it. You have some mods that do this. If I could have these esps, I could determinate which one modify that script.
It could be useful, so I may include this mod in a list of incompatibility.

About the AnimKit, you have to run a function named FixErrors, or something like that.

TrueFlame is fixed in the new download.
I tested again the whole Main Quest, and all worked fine now.

I think I accidentally dodged the scripting in a part of the MQ.
Spoiler
When I reached the Old Mournhold Battlefield and was briefed by The Hand that stealth was a potential option, my character decided to do things Telvanni style and levitate above the field and fireball everything to death. I decided to attack Myn Dhurer last since he probably had something to say to me. So I ended up killing the warchief and the durzog before going into Myn's auto-greet reach. The result (If I interpreted your scripts correctly that is, I know very little about those things) is that the warchief dying in battle with him makes him retreat, but since I already killed the warchief before talking to him, he did not retreat and the other thing about his health dropping to a certain point either didn't work or didn't work in time. I managed to kill him and he also had no death animation, so his corpse floated in place and I did not receive the journal entry or dialogue from The Hand that I was meant to.

In short: I think attacking the warchief from a distance before speaking with the Dremora bypasses your script.

Ran fix errors yesterday before I went to sleep, and it mostly completed, save for
ERR: Error while performing Anim Error correction procedure: Failed to locate spine, left foot, or right foot bone in one of the NIF files.

New version doesn't allow me to enter the Basilica, still.
The error only came up at one instance before where I took routes that I shouldn't have, and now as I try to re-enter the Basilica.
Edit: Personally, I think it might be Mournhold Expanded.

Any others that look like they might modify that script?

This time I got to see a short blurb about Eno Romari killing himself before the crash!
