Anti-Hero....

Argonian
Name- Snow
Alignment- Flawed Hero/ Anti-Hero
Parents- Mom is Argonian where she was a slave. Dad is Argonian who was a client for the Dark Brotherhood. He joined to free his wife and kill all slavers. Him and his wife fled near Skyrim after a successful mission, he killed all slavers, and they had their son.
Look- Unique, white and icy blue skin tone due to being raised in snow.
Story- They live in the snow so the son is raised in snow his whole life which is odd for an Argonian. The Dark Brotherhood comes calling for his dad to join back up and his dad refuses. To get revenge on the family the DB comes after the son. He is about ten years old when it happens. The DB knocks out his parents and kidnaps the son. The DB removes all his organs besides the vital ones and the gills as well. They give the son back in the middle of the night. The parents find out quickly that he can’t breathe underwater like an Argonian anymore. He also can’t eat like normal due to removal of 75% of his stomach. The son becomes reserved and drawn until he turns twenty. That’s when he becomes more open and wants to kill the DB. After 3 years his parents are old and sickly at this time so he heads out into Skyrim, after finding out that its DB leader is the one who removed his organs. He joins the Thieves guild after finding out that his organs were sold on the black market.
Guild: Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild

Why do people forget to put 'Other' as an option?
Do they really assume that they've covered absolutely every possible voting choice?

Anyway.
I just play and do what I want.
I never upset myself with being good or evil and just let my actions speak for me (especially in TES).

I would LOVE to play as an anti-hero in Skyrim, but I don't really see it working.

My favorite anti-heroes of all time are Jackie Estacado (The Darkness), Richard B. Riddike (Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddike), Frank Castle AKA The Punisher (Comics), Walter Kovacs AKA Rorschach (Watchmen) and V (V For Vendetta).

I just don't see any way we can make an anti-hero character work in Skyrim. It didn't work in Oblivion or Fallout 3.

I'm going to play through as an Altmer mage anti-hero. He has a dark sense of humor and will do anything to gain more power; while he is dosn't kill for fun, he will not hestitate to strike down anyone who stands in his way or who has something he needs. He makes allies only if they suit him and will betray them if it benefits him to do so. He slays dragons not out of the desire to save others but instead so he can absorb their souls and gain more power. But no matter how many spells he masters or powers he obtains he will never be satisfied.

My character will most likely be on the good side of things, but in the end whatever benefits me best I'll most likely take. Someone's house on fire? I'll be the hero to save your life. Someone leave their money lying around? I might go help myself to it. If the benefit involves the killing of innocent, I'll pass, but anyone who has a just cause to die might meet my sword.
A lot of things are up to change depending on the events of Skyrim :D

I wasn't really sure what you meant by anti-hero, but when I saw Turin listed as an example I said yes, thats what my guy is. He has no honor code, although he respects those who do, but bases everything on his survival first, then morality. Since his father was a vocal critic of the Emperor and Empire, his parents were assassinated, so he has a strong hatred for the Empire, although he does believe the footsoldiers and peasants who support the empire have been deceived and will grant them mercy if they ask for it.

Edit: I should mention, no mercy for the politicians!!!!

but the dark brotherhood doesnt kill for the greater good, they kill because someone asked and paid money

And? If the person doing the killing believes it is for the greater good while still upholding the code and laws of DB, then in their own eyes, they are inherently good while still in the Brotherhood.

All assassinations are carried out on order, meaning someone's paying coin to have someone killed, now if the contract was to kill say, someone that mortally wronged your family, doesn't mean that the act of receiving payment for the killing is bad, it just means you are receiving payment for killing someone who is inherently evil or has done some horrible injustice.

Just because the DB kills anyone as long as the coin is good enough, doesn't mean that it's members can't have a moral code. :)

No they kill for the better evil. So if a man asked them to kill a slaver it is a good cause yet they are getting paid on the way. Think of Assassins Creed kind of thing

My first character, a female Khajiit named Gi'Anna, will be Neutral Good. I delay completing the MQ in games like this, and her character is going to be very...naive. But ultimately she will end up as Lawful Good, I suppose, because it's just what I do when given options.

That said, my second character, Skeeme, a male Argonian thief, is going to start out Neutral Evil. I have a feeling that he will descend into depravity and chaos before long.

I almost always play Paladin/Paragon/Hero types, but in Fallout 3 I was a complete scumbag and it was fun. I'd like to try that again with Skeeme.

but assassins creed is even more morally messed up, I mean look at ezio he kills literally hundreds of guards who had wives children and families, yet he wont kill the pope because that wont bring his father back

and dont you remember the next of kin quest, how was that for the lesser evil you just murdered an entire family and didnt even question why

Hero or anti-hero?

*shrugs*

Thats for others to decide... I don't like killing, but i wouldn't hesitate to do that if it is necessary. If i can get away with stealing from a stranger, it will be good for me - but on the other hand i might 'forget' some coins in the house of someone who had his share of bad luck.

Unjust or unfair rules/laws? Pfffft, meant to be broken.

I'll only stick to my code of honor - anything else is fair game.

I always play as an anti-hero, if possible.

I enjoy being the loner assassin, following my own code of honor.

whoever says no cant join the dark brotherhood

agreed- My antihero will be in the DB. That's the 'bad' part of him... but the Main Quest is the key to him being the 'antihero.'
