Anti-Sniper tactics.

Post » Wed Jun 23, 2010 2:32 am

I realise that they can't one-shot you, but they can take a big chunk out of your health, and pin you down, so I'd like to make a thread for the discussion of avoiding being sniped, and taking snipers down, after release we can go map-specific, discussing where to look for 'em , and which way to go to get up close and personal with 'em.

Don't stop moving, stick to the shadows, and take them down from behind. :spotted owl:

The maps are pretty close quarters; there aren't any long stretches of open terrain. Just keep moving and throw a couple nades at him. Problem solved.

Most of the maps in Brink seem short - medium range. Snipers thrive on long range combat. Therefore, I foresee not that many people attempting to snipe in Brink to begin with.

Does this mean no one will attempt to be a "dedicated" sniper? Absolutely not. I don't think a dedicated sniper will do all that well in Brink, however.

Try not to stand in large spaced places, and keep on running.

I'll be trying to flank the sniper with light body type so you are able to wall-hop and run fast. It should work vs. atleast light body snipers but heavier guys might just whip out their 2ndary SMG/Rifle and shoot you.

It's not that hard in CoD - quickscoping OHKs from 100m - easy peasy pants, but it is going to be really hard in BRINK.
No OHKs, and an EXTREMELY long rechambering time (for the bolt-action), only the really good people are going to be able to use them effectively,
and the kind of the people who are that skilled generally aren't the 'elitist' 12 year olds with skilzzzzzz. So shut the fuc!< up - the game's not even out yet.

What you really should be worried about are the Bolt Action experts, that don't mind at all getting upclose and personal.

The only way you'll surive as a sniper in Brink is if your on the move constantly tbh.

Very Complicated Anti Sniper Tactics: Aim.......... wait for it..... Fire... Fire...Fire... Get the picture ?

Try to move as much as possible, but make sure you're playing the objective

There's nothing really complicated about being the anti-sniper in games. As long as you don't go down in one hit, you can just use your magic assault rifle to take them down.

Good luck trying to snipe "perfectly well", with close - medium range maps and parkour.
