Any Anchorage fans?

I know there are a lot of people who dislike this DLC for some reason but I thought it was a refreshing change of pace. I like winter landscapes, plus it was pre war! Fallout 3 is all about you being alone, hence being the Lone Wanderer, but you actually get to be in a squad! Plus, you are actually in the U.S. Army, whereas in Fallout 3 you are always an "honorary member" when it comes to groups. It was nice to just go in and kill and overtake the Chinese! Liberating Anchorage felt nice and I felt a new connection to the place whenever I see Anchorage mentioned. Hell, I even paid my respects at the Anchorage Memorial. When I see the statue of the soldiers at Anchorage, I can think to myself: "I was there!" Yes, I wasn't there physically but I may as well have been. Death in sim=death in real life. Good enough for me. It was nice using clean weapons rather than the dirty wasteland ones.

I know the Pitt and Point Lookout are more of a porper RPG DLC, but getting Anchorage was a nice treat. Sometimes you just need to shoot people up and have fun.

Anyone else here appreciate Anchorage?

Anchorage was fine for what it was, I have no problems with it.

Ugh, I wanted to like it... I really did.
But the fact that it took away all your hard earned gear and basically put you in a game inside a game, completely killed it for me. Not to mention the non stop fetch/kill missions, it got old, fast.

Meh. Sorry. Just a big box level. Though I enjoyed firing missiles at everyone. It felt out of place to me, the box thang I mean. I wanted more (any!) control over decisions made.

I just view it as a sort of mini-game. It doesn't necessarily fit with the rest of Fallout, but its got a good bit of FPS fun.

Its basically what Fallout would be if it went full on COD style.

It was an ok DLC :)

What I liked the most with Anchorage though, was the huge epic mountain area. Something that neither Morrowind, Oblivion or Fallout 3 had (they are all relatively flat), and made me expect something similiar for their next game, which turned out to be Skyrim.

In terms of the game? I loved it. It's definitely unique, but the great part of it is that it's a delusional Pre-War sim of Operation: Anchorage. It's just a pity none of what's in Anch can be seen as canon since it's indicated that General Chase went into his own world due to PTSD

I liked the pre-war idea and the snowy environment. Though I found it a bit repetitive.

I thought that as well. Plus, I have started so many times in Fallout 3 that OA is just a way to broke the rutine at starting. Is easy when you are in, but not so easy to enter the outcast base with FWE installed. That′s challenging. Afther that, can you enjoy some "official" DLC looting to face FWE+MMM.

Im not a fan, but I like it. I needed it, somehow.

Anchorage was Probally My favorite One. It felt Good to get out of the Wastes for once. Being able to command my own squad was a plus, I first had the close quarters loadout but I switched to the missle launcher requistion(However you spell it) And got a gauss rifle. I enjoyed the Artic Warfare, And being able to murder Jingwei With my Own Two hands.

After the sim, I got The Gauss Rifle, Jignwei's sword for shock therapy, and The Winterized T-51 Power armor. The durability is great, And I love it.

I have to agree with this, it felt completely like a mini-game. I had fun, but I do generally just see this DLC as an obstacle to get some great loot.

I love Operation Anchorage. :) It's good to see the prewar world. It looks totally epic.
And Benjamin Montgomery is awesome and completely badass. Makes you wish he was in the main game and a companion.
Awesome loot, some of the best in the dlcs.

I don't like it because if it's simulating the war, was there health dispensers and what not everywhere? No, you probably still had stim's. I only played this for quick power armor usage and the winterized T-51b.

I agree, I only played it for the Gauss Rifle and some really cool looking items to decorate my house with.
