Any battlefield vets getting Brink?

Post » Sat May 14, 2011 12:57 am

I played Battlefield: Bad Company and fell in love with the series, along the way I played Battlefield: 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I recently got Battlefield: Modern Combat 2 but the controls were completely unfamiliar to me so I didn't get that much fun out of it as I hoped for  I can't wait to play Brink. I know people has said this before but Brink is a breath of fresh air and I am looking forward to playing it tomorrow but hey if anyone ever feels like playing any of the Battlefields on the 360 my gamertag is right below so add me  if you want!

I'm not really a vet but I do hail from BC2. I just can't get enough of that game.
I picked up BF2 for $5 on Steam yesterday, now I see why everyone says it is so great lol.

You said '1942' and it brought me back. Oh man, did I play the ever living bajeesus out of that game. I like BFBC2, but I have ALOT of connection issues with it. I'm hoping BF3 is more PC optimized.

But yeah. Loved the BF series, and I cannot wait for Brink in a few more hours. ;)

CPT T.Nightingale of 1st to Fight here.

We are a Project Reality mod clan.
Some things this game has in common. Required Teamwork. Voip (If i can get it to work). Deviation. etc.

Great games both of them.

I did around 110 hours in Bad Company 2 and love that game. Decided to pre-order Brink mainly based on my experience in BC2. While I love that game, I always wanted to be able to move better. Can't remember how many times I got stuck in front of a slight bump in the terrain that I was sure I should have been able to jump over.

I also wanted a game that rewarded going after objectives. So many times I nearly captured a flag, only to see the meter stop one short and a squad of rank 50's coming at me.

Brink gives me the movement and XP for at least trying to get the objective. Still, I'm sure that I will get BF3 when it comes out. The two games are really complementary.

Ugh, veteran of the veterans elitism.

Just remember that no matter how good you are, someone will almost always be better. No matter how many ace pins you have, someone is lurking with more and a better ratio. And remember that no matter how long you've been playing BF, someones been playing longer, and lurking to shut that guy up is a guy who was in beta, and lurking to shut THAT guy up is a guy who was in alpha, AND to shut everyone up there's a guy who has a girlfriend and a steady job that will put them all to shame.

BF games are good, if you played any game before the current one you are a veteran.

Depends on how you look at it. Looking series-specific, then yes, I'm relatively new to Battlefield. I only played BF2 for a limited amount of time.
Looking game specific, then I am new, but some are veterans based solely on one game (I have seen players with 2,000+ hours in BC2).
Looking more generally, my guess (based on the 89 in your name) is that I was playing games before you were born.

As Horty says, it's all relative and rather nonsensical.
