Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Todd Howard say that shields and torches must be held in the left hand only?

Yet another person who cannot use there, they're, and their correctly.. *shudder*

No point to this thread, we already know that there will never be two weapon block/parry in the vanilla game, and personally I wouldn't even make/download a mod that allows you to do so.. unless parrying with daggers was done very well.

There is probably no time left, unfortunately.

It's not unfortunate. People don't block with two swords in their hands.

The phrasing of the title makes my head hurt.

In response to your point, no. Bethesda probably won't admit that they ruined dual wielding. The modders will have to fix it for them.

not just no, but HELL NO! You might be able to parry an attack with duel swords but not block. Think of it like shooting with pistols in both hands, purely theatrical and impractical since you greatly diminish your strength. Duel swords is all about speed and finesse.

Any chance means from 1% to 100%, so yes. there's a chance.

BUT

The chance only exists in a patch. There's no way it's happening before launch.

Well now dual wield is useless no blocking, you have same attack speed as if you are hitting with one handed weapon i mean you attack same as with sword+shield so yeah i won't use that.

I would! You can block with a one handed weapon with one hand. Why not one, the other, or both while dual wielding? If someone attacks you, survival instinct dictates you'll try to mitigate their damage with whatever you've got. It would be very unfortunate.

If it's not in officially, I can only hope we'll be able to add it with mods. The whole concept of dual wielding is unattractive to me if I can't block at all.

Well I voted Maybe. It's not gonna be in the game at launch but I'm hoping it'll show up later as DLC. Please?
If it's not in initially and is to be put in later, it would happen via a patch rather than a DLC. *also crosses fingers*

As much as I'd love to see dual wield blocking (because it's stupid to be defenseless) no, it aint gonna happen.

This really is best left for a mod and not put in the game.

If you take 2H, let's face it, you are also going to raise block because otherwise you have to avoid ever hitting the LT while you play. If they put block into dual wield, you'd have the same thing for another fighting style.

They couldn't keep the high dual-wield DPS and also have blocking without making it the uber style, rendering the other two style pointless. So it would become even more like 2H in its balance of defense and offense.

So having block with dual wield would reduce the variety of combat styles. It would also lose the logical consistency of the controls.

If you want to play a blocking style, choose one of the other two. This is one of many examples on these boards where people want what THEY want without thinking of the overall game balance for all players.

However, mods are perfect for such unbalancing as you put in the mod for your own game alone, and no-one else is affected.

If you want an idea of how to play dual wield while keeping things interesting, maybe this build would be worth checking?? http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1235772-altmer-ninja/

Just my 2 cents here but I'm all for blocking wile dual wielding! Its 100% realistic and makes dual wielding a nice option! Without being able to block attacks wile dual wielding I seriously doubt I will want to us a fighting style in MY game that is gimp! No blocking wile dual wielding is unrealistic and gimp! PERIOD! My only hope for this style of fighting is for a mod person to FIX it!

I want there to be, but I doubt it. They put emphasis on balance in the game abd if you block with dual weilding weapons then why would you use a shield. There has to be pros and cons with the all of the weapons in the game and if they added blocking with dual weilding weapons it would be far superior to any other weapon play.

If they did then everybody would choose it over sword and shield, it's called game balance.

IF you swing while an enemy is swinging at you or an arrow is in your hitbox you should block and bat the arrow out of the sky.

There is a Block perk called Deflect Arrows.

sword and spell cant block what makes duel swords any different. Quit QQing before the game comes out because all you are doing is making assumptions.

Balance be damned! Not all would opt for it in favor of using a shield as shields have the bashing and whatnot. Using a shield should be more effective, but one ought to be able to use the same one hand block anim they can when their left hand is empty. Why should having something in your left hand remove the ability to block with your right? If I've a stave and a blade equipped and you come at me, I've a far better chance of blocking your attack than if I'd only one or the other.

That's not true. We also don't know if there are dual wield perks under 1 handed, just like there's a H2H perk under Heavy Armor. We can also have multiple enchants on each weapon, which means 4 enchants while dual wielding.
