Any city you don′t want to vist?

Post » Fri Jul 09, 2010 4:42 pm

Leyawiin probably. It just seems so isolated down there in the bottom of the map. Plus it looks really hot and humid, and seems like it would have a huge number of mosquitos. Just doesn't seem like a very nice place to visit at all. After I finish the Mages Guild recomendation quest there I hardly ever go back.

Leyawiin for sure. Mostly cos of the gloomy skies and constant rain. When it rains, i feel the way i feel IRL about being out in it. My char runs for dry cover - disappointing then to discover that the rain still comes through stone arches, house porches and other seemingly solid overhangs. I figure like 'oh no its raining again and she's getting all wet - gonna rust that armour'.

A second downer with Leyawiin is those pesky Will O Wisps you gotta pass to get there - they just don' give up chasing, even over water - thats a real pain until you get good enough to either kill them, enthrall them or go invisable and lose them. At lower levels they are quite deadly, so best avoided by not travelling down there.

You got all that right! My character hates getting ready to go out, then stepping outside only to discover it's raining! Back inside to change into rain clothes. Too bad she can't tell if it's raining before stepping out. You'd think one could look out the window or hear the rain, but without mods, noooo.

Then when she gets caught in a downpour and runs for an arch or awning, like you, she discovers it does no good. Why don't those things stop the rain? :P

Arrgghh. It enough to make her want to live in Anvil (nah, she'd never leave Bravil).

Not to mention the humidity and all the swamp smells (or maybe Argonian/Khajiit smells), and the lady with the smelly scamps too.

You can't drink the water either, the Argonians swim in it! ;)

Leyawiin for sure. Other than quests Rockmilk Cave is the only reason to hang around the area.

Anvil at least has a lighthouse and sunsets to make up for an equally inconvenient location in relation to the rest of Cyrodiil.

Yeah, that′s nasty

Bliss is somewhat smaller than Crucible and that′s a downer. The only thing interesting there is a certain cutlery collector

Leyawiin. It's too far out of the way, the houses are ugly in my opinion, and it rains too much.

Other than that, I like all of the cities.

Seems like most people have at least one city they don′t like and as I have already concluded, Leyawiin is at the top of the list, followed by Bravil

I've started using the Better Cities mod, and my opinion has changed from "Bravil" to "Bravil! :yuck:"

Bravil's unpleasant, and Leyawiin's just boring IMO. Dull architecture, and no particularly good quests to be found.

Cheydinal, due to the lore behind it. That's supposed to be Dunmer-influenced style? Maybe it's good they never implemented the mainland in morrowind, I really don't like the city...

No, since it′s not a habitable city it does not count

Due to Better Cities, I really started to like Bravil. So many little corners and paths above the ground for nice little fights with the guards ;D

Bruma, it just looks so primitive. And it looks too much like my homecountry.

I hate Bravil. It looks like someone took the founder of Bravil, blindfolded him, spun him around four times before telling him to shove his finger against a map of Tamriel as to where Bravil was. He presses his finger to the most dirtiest, most disgusting place ever.

My character avoids Bravil like the plague. Role-playing wise, it's because his mother and father were both murdered there when he was fourteen. Going back is too painful for him.

My assassin character avoids it because (in the Better Cities version) criminals are hanged and left to hang in the gallows. Being a thief and a murderer it doesn't take much imagination for her to put herself up there :cold:

My Spellsword on the other hand has a more superficial reason: it's dirty! No place for a magewarrior in shiny armor to spend time :yuck:

I don't want to visit Kvatch, because I know if I do the Gates will start popping up all over and I really don't want to deal with demons ('scuse me, Daedra) right now. Closing those things gets real tedious after awhile, especially if your sense of direction svcks like mine does. I get lost easily in those places. But since Kvatch doesn't count (being destroyed and all) I'll go with Bravil as well. It's depressing, whereas Bruma just looks interestingly rustic to me. I could easily imagine half of Bravil being on skooma.

I feel a bit the same, but it does have an interesting architecture :)

Bravil. Its a dump and the count could care less since he's an arrogant [censored] with a skooma addicted son.
