Any clue as to next patch

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 8:03 pm

So seeing as 1.01 just came out recently i probably shouldn't expect a patch anytime soon to fix the terrible freeze and glitch problem. I've twice now had to reboot at same place by ncr farm and am not going to continue to play this 60 dollar game until the next patch comes out and hopefully fixes it.

yeah, i would not hold your breath about that patch coming any time soon. it is quite apparent to me that Bethesda and Obsidian do not give a [censored] about the people that but their garbage and pay their salary's or they would not have released such a bug-ridden game in the first place. WE ARE NOT YOUR [censored] BETA-TESTERS! do not misunderstand, for those that have not encountered any serious bugs/glitches, than i am happy to hear that, and i do not want to [censored] on your fun, but the developers owe it to the rest of us to at least keep us informed, instead of just ignoring of us, which is what i feel they have done ever since they released that 'so-called' patch, which really has not done [censored] for any of us.

they are working on it, be a bit more patient, if this small patch already fixed 200 bugs, this next patch should resolve the most bugs, that are keeping us from enjoying this game.

unfortunately i cant include the freezing problem in my guess.

Doesn't change the fact that they should AT LEAST inform us of the developments, if any are actually being made.

How do you know? Maybe they're working on the DLC most of the time. FO3 never got in full shape (far from it), although it did receive some patches initially.

It's been over a week now since the last patch, and a week of solid work by competent programmers should be enough to patch some of the bugs. They don't have to do everything at once. (I'm sure they are competent, but I'm not sure they actually work on the patch that much, but I hope they do. They should.)

Now I'm probably WRONG, but as far as I've seen/heard from companies like Gearbox, it's a bit of a painful process to release a patch (going through Sony/PSNetwork). Paperwork, checks, setup, release, and everything in between. As far as I've seen with Gearbox for Borderlands, they're releasing one last patch to fix the quest, leveling, and enemy scaling. Supposedly though, they've released so many patches over the last year (i've been there since before it was released) that they've reached their limit incurred by Sony/PSN/whoever for whatever reason(s). Sooo... if they want to release patches, I'm guessing Beth and Obsi have to find, repeat, diagnose, rewrite/reprog, repeat parameters in game, test and hunt for bugs caused by fix, fix those or ignore (limited size for patch), compact into proper file size, present to whoever for release over network, wait for clearance (all the while new problems arise with customers), and finally get released based on whenever's good for the people in charge of that. It takes patience, alot of people, gophering, and luck; they'll still never please everyone. That's okay.

I know i might be wrong on that. If they are ALLOWED to make a patch for these issues, we will see it soon.

How about a list of the bugs you have fixed, or something concrete for us to look at instead of the usual vague answers and spotty communications with your fanbase. That would be cool.

if they hadn't made such a [censored] game they wouldn't have put themselves in that position. I wouldn't be worrying anyway about some massive patch coming along cause it wont. They've no problem putting out and abandoning broken games ala fallout 3 GOTY edition

they fixed scripting issues, not bugs with the game engine. I believe the latter is beyond their capability.

They fixed a majority of the problems with Fo3 and oblivion so why can't they do it with NV they all run on the same ancient dinosaur engine.

Well, Not defending Bethesda/Obsidian by any means they shouldn't have released the game in its present state but I'm not a member of those companies or a big business man so I can't rightfully judge why they did so,but there is an updated comment on the link that says they're are working on resolving issues with the game. So, at least they've given some info telling us they're working after patch 1.01. I think they know their game is broken either that or they're deaf and illiterate.

This update is now available for PS3, 360, and PC.

Updated: We'll continue to work on issues (including the 360 save issue Jason mentioned above) for upcoming updates. As soon as we have more details to share on these updates, we'll let you know. Keep in mind before they can be released, they have to go through testing and certfifcation.

You're right, didn't notice the update. I do love how they say "As soon as we have MORE details" as if we have been given any details.

Yeah, I don't Know why they couldn't simple give us a little more details, but like I stated in my previous post not a member of those companies so don't know whats going on with them. I do know that they're kinda being shady with this whole NV ordeal.

The next patch will be released shortly after they are done counting all the money we paid them to be beta testers.

and they currently have no information about when or if further patches will be released(i asked)

oohh people, someone already asked the staff, so no more doubts about they are working on a patch.

Posted Yesterday, 04:05 AM by PsychoProfessor

Okay, so I had a conversation with Gstaff who's the Sr. Community Manager and site admin last night and I asked him if there was any news on a patch, this was his reply

Gstaff: "I can tell you the stuff is still be worked on -- many of the issues being reported in the forums. Unfortunately, until I have more to share, I'm going to sound like a broken record. Until we're in a place where we pretty much know the update is done, tested, certified, etc. -- it's hard to put an ETA on things."

So at least this shows that it is being worked on and we'll have to keep our fingers crossed and hope it doesn't take to long.

That made me laugh too. But it's not funny; in this state they really should be paying us to play this.
Except, people don't get paid for beta-testing anymore do they, it seems to be given out as a prize or sold for $60.

Have you called technical support? A friend of mine did and was told that there weren't too many issues popping up on the forums here so it can't be that big of a problem. So now we're posting here.
