Any ETA for next ES Book?

Post » Sat Oct 23, 2010 8:19 pm

I just realized that it's been about a year since the first ES book. Has there been any news about when the next ES book will land, or if they are even going through with completing the books? Since the first book was kind of short, I was sort of thinking they might be on a one-a-year schedule, but as I haven't heard or been able to find anything on Google about the second book, it doesn't seem likely it'll be coming out this year.

Bethesda does not understand how to properly market a book series. They have been treating it like their games, not releasing any iformation, the reease date or even the title of the book. I have a feeling that they may release the book somewhere around release time as to increase hype.

According to Keyes it's "in the editing stages" as of September. So the manuscript is done and it's no longer in his hands. So nobody go and bother him. However this is reassuring because it means no more locations will be mispelled :D

Well in that case...BRING ON THE DLC! We needs some extras for our books.

Hmm interesting, a book/game announcement will be really awesome. With the book coming out first and then the game to fulfill the lore and generate hype.
I just hope someone translates and publishes it in Brazil so that I can read. It seems like a good read.

Slight correction, they were giving the second draft a once-over. http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad307/Nextmastermind/gkeyes.jpg

It's still only on the second draft? The first book wasn't that long to begin with, I would have thought he'd have had it all written long ago. At this rate, it looks like it'll be coming out closer to the next game's release.

Oh well, maybe this time around it'll be better proofread. I was surprised by how many mistakes made it through in the first book. I think. It's been a long time since I read it.

Maybe a release around the time of quake con? Maybe before E3 when they will be giving a lot of info?

I want the next book to be released as soon as posible, because I have only 10 pages left to read of The Infernal City. Any chance the book can be released tomorow?

Considering the guy doesn't seem to have a blog (that I can find), it's cool you were able to email him. :D

So hopefully we'll see it soon! I was gonna guess a couple of months before Skyrim anyway.

He used to have an official site but it vanished.

Although it's good to know that things are being checked over. Here's hoping for early next year. It just wouldn't make sense to have it out after Skyrim, if the events effect the future direction then the general ending would be spoiled.

Let's publish an incomplete book and tell the readers, for more money, they can have the rest of the book.

The Penitus Oculatus were afraid to go to Skyrim. That was Keye's way of saying, "can't talk about it."

Agreed! Infernal city was astounding, and we've been left hanging long enough, I think. When I first got done reading it, it took me a few months to learn there even was a second book. I just thought it had a disappointing ending!

Yea, I was wondering about this myself. The 1st book does mention that there would be a 2nd book as well. (on the back cover I think)

I would hope so as well since it's supposed to bridge the gap between Oblivion and Skyrim.

I haven't even read the Infernal City. I bought it like the day it came out, and read the first chapter, but I wanted a more interactive experience so I went and played Oblivion. :P

Ive learned about every spoiler about that book, should I still read it? Ive heard its pretty amazing.

The Infernal City was a deplorable book that sullied the respectability of the Elder Scrolls. Yeah.

The Infernal City was a good book, but definitely not one of my favourites. If your not that motivated in reading it, I'd just suggest going to the spoiler section at the UESP/Imperial Library.
Can't wait for the next one, I imagine we wont get news on it until after the February GI

You're angry about MW being nuked, aren't you. Well, it wasn't Keyes's fault, Beth decided to nuke it since TES:III. It was only a matter of time.

Maybe in it, because the entire series is being discussed. What better place to plug your game's spin-off novel than in Game Informer?
