Any info about a possible beta release?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 10:13 pm

The title says it all really, will there be a Beta for all platforms? I would love this for multiple reasons:
1. I LOVE this game!!
2. this way issues can be found using the divine power of the community feedback.
3. because i like banana's

Maybe someone has any info on this?

Oh my god a beta of mp would be great i hope crytek makes one spring nxt year feels like a 1000 years away from now. The gameplay trailer itself made me realize i dont have a reason to play any of the gmes i play these days and i feel bored out of my mind waiting and its slow for good stuff to come during summer....

Bit too early to start giving Beta info, considering we just announced the game's existence last week ;D

Then you'll be pleased, because the only beta you're likely to see is one that's actually a demo.
2. this way issues can be found using the divine power of the community feedback.
Very little, in fact I would suggest almost nothing, is solved by community feedback, which could not or was not already identified by professional beta testers. The exceptions being certain glitches, which the smaller groups of pros may not come across.
3. because i like banana's
Grammatically incorrect. No beta for you.

I think they will release a Demo right before the launch. it was the same before they released C2. 6 Weeks C3 Demo madness would be more as great!

If they do release a beta I hope it isn't 4 weeks before games release,

Release the beta months before game release, giving you more time for fixes and balance so you don't have to release 3-4 updates making the community wait for months before the game is fixed.

I think it's important we learn from our past mistakes

That's the thing though, they don't necessarily want consumer input on their game. 4 weeks from release isn't a beta, it's a demo. The game would more than likely have gone gold by that point, and the small things which are discovered, can be nicely squeezed into a bite-sized day 1 patch.

I agree that they should have beta testing very early on, but I don't think it should be open. All that serves to do is pressure the developers into not starting testing until the game already looks great; because people, against all reason, do base their purchase decisions off of unfinished builds.

Perhaps they should develop a demo level that has everything that would be in C3, but is not the actual story or action of the game.

I hope they will have a Multiplayers Beta, and they 'll choose US, THE loyal community as beta's testers......( Mr Cervat, Please !)
