Any info on germany getting its own version of the game?

See topic.

I haven't preordered FO4 yet out of fear that germany gets a terribly butchered version again.

I don't mind our mostly terrible voiceacters too much, but I'd like to have the game as the developers wanted it to be, not as some old guy whos propably barely able to use a mailprogram imagines it appropriate....

It will likely be gore-free... Maybe...

I can't wait for Yahtzee to review Fallout 4 and the inevitable Australian restrictions...

TC, are you pre-ordering on Steam? I heard that you can choose which localization you can download in the Steam settings, but you'll want to double check that before you make a decision. And you'd probably be stuck with the American voice acting, if that's a problem. For consoles, I'd expect the German localization to follow the same rules and regulations as any game that goes through their system.

As for things like child-killing, six, or nudity, Bethesda hasn't done that since Daggerfall and they've never expressed their intention to since. In fact, Todd Howard's talked about it in interviews as juvenile; and not many games have convinced me he's wrong. Oblivion got re-rated because there were topless female character models within the game files themselves; modders only enabled them.

Meh, never found anything a mature rating prevents to be that needed in a game, nor does it make gameplay or story better. I prefer the necesary evil of a rating system like the ESRB over the messy jungle of trouble publishing ratingless games would cause.

The current things to note for germans are: FO3 and NV were censored for gore. The BPjS later changed their standards and NV was reevaluated for the GOTY edition and was no longer censored. We can expect an equally loosened Standard for FO4. Pete Hines stated they were looking into releasing uncensored in germany in a tweet. No follow up until now.

You can easily order games form austrian vendors ;)

If you preorder on steam, it may be censored later, but you can still change language. It will still be censored though, if it gets censored in germany.

If you buy on release day and the game is not yet censored, your steam key will remain uncensored, even if they later decide to change that ruling.

There will be german gore mods should every thing else fail. Probably not on consoles though.

I preordered Fallout 4 from Austria PEGI and from Germany [Steelbook Edition]. Bethesda sent Fallout 4 (uncut) in and is calculating for an USK 18.

I am waiting aswell for the result, because i am aswell from germany and so directly affected.

When i get the information, that the game is fully uncut in germany, i will cancel the PEGI version. Otherwise, i will cancel the USK version. [I yust hope, i don't forget it XD]

Looking at the state of the USK.

Witcher 3 (uncut), USK 18, passed

The Evil Within (uncut), USK 18, passed

(At least games i own)

And now as proof of evidence:

http://www11.pic-upload.de/17.08.15/cw65xunftsxa.jpg

(Pic from http://www.usk.de/

It can be found by seaching for Mortal Kombat X on the site, but can't be linked directly, because they are using a changing hash system in the url.

Mortal Kombat X is what i read the most bloody version of Mortal Kombat and the first one, who isn't indexed.)

And yes, thats the uncut version of Mortal Kombat X. What i heard, the USK (or some other instances who can do it) got the game when it was released and send it to the BPjS for indexing. But the BPjS told: "Well, its okay. No need for indexing." So with this, the way was free for a USK18. Not from the BPjS indexed games, have to get at least a USK18, when they are submitted to the USK from the Publisher/Developer. Yes, that even costs something. So after this, Warner was of course running to the USK, waving with Mortal Kombat X [of course only metaphorical ;)]. With this, the way is free to sell it here freely, place it in shops and even make advertising for it.

So chances for a uncut Fallout 4 version in germany aren't as bad.

Regarding the nudity, six and AO content from sides the developer, i highly doubt it. Otherwise, the NPCs and the player models would have looked a bit better, i think.

As said by Bethesda: They will try to release an uncut version here in germany.

And if you take a look at Skyrim/New Vegas Ultimate (dismemberment/gore) it will most likely happen :).

When you say "release" do you mean sitting on a shop self or being purchased via Steam?

Didn't the last God of War have some pretty close to porm scenes in it? It's wasn't AO was it?

No clue about God of War, I am not into consoles ;).

In terms of shop/steam <- this shouldn't matter, due the fact Steam is Beths DRM (or copyright protection if you want to call it that way).

Therefore the digital Steam version and the retail shop version should be the same (except for some goodies, but those have nothing todo with the game being cut or uncut).

for non german peoples who wants to read it aswell.)

And there we go. The USK have given Fallout 4 a USK18 on the uncut version. So fully uncut version in german aswell.

And a "Thumbs up!" for our friends from the USK.

I already canceled the AT version, because now i can take the german Steelbook Edition without worry.
