Any "make/build Your Own Mods?

Post » Fri Dec 02, 2011 8:21 am

I'm looking for mods where you are able to make your own things. I liked RTS (Real Time Settlers), anyone know any other mods based where you are able to build your own things?

Thanks!

What things are you looking for? Homes? Weapons? Armor? A lot of that can be done in the GECK much easier than an in-game alternative.

A crafting system of sorts would be cool, imagine just like 100 more schematics...all those meshes.

I just can't help but imagine all the possibilities though, I honestly spend half of my physics class drawing up makeshift weapons that I'll never get around to making. lol

I do mean like ingame things. Weapons would be...interesting to do. Unless they were just in schematics. But I mean anything really ingame that is created by you.

*I'm not looking to create content and add it to the game, I want to make things ingame

There is not much of a distinction. Anything you can create in-game, must first be content added; built by a modder or a developer, and put in the game via the GECK. The engine is not designed to extrapolate improvised objects.

Here is a weapon mod that provides an alien Steam-Punk rifle, that the player can upgrade, by using parts from a plasma rifle.

That would be a mod...what are you trying to get at?

Pretty much, Matt, he's saying that to have this stuff ingame, some intrepid modder has to bite the bullet and make the mod that puts it ingame.

And, the "you know best, so you'll do it best" thing applies here. Everyone starts somewhere, and our best modders often started because they couldn't find a mod that did what they wanted.
