Any mod results in crash

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:05 am

Any mod I use results in a crash. I tried it both on my windows 7 computer and windows vista. Both computers have the game installed out of the default location to avoid issues as advised. I followed the instructions by using the ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!.exe file to activate. I installed fomm and installed mods through that. I want to try many mods, but I went with more popular ones so I knew they would be working with the least amount of issues. I've also used FO3Edit to try to make it work, and so far nothing seems to work.

Fallout3.esm is always my first. I have switched around the order of other stuff, disabled everything but 1 mod, changed which mod I had enabled as the only one, etc. It always results in a crash to desktop unless I disable all mods. I have also tried both launching from the fallout 3 launcher, and the FOMM and both still crash. I've gone through a few different mod tutorials and I don't see what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe some of those mods require DLCs? If a mod is missing one of its master (ems) files the game will crash on startup.

It was actually solved...I appreciate the effort of the sticky tutorial on the nexus site but the first 4 videos on this link are way way better, and explain stuff that the stickied one does not. In case anyone here is having similar problems, re-linking it. My problem ended up being not having FOSE, as well as it not liking my i7 processor which it explains how to fix.
