Any mods that add a fishery?

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2016 1:07 am

I'm really enjoying all the alchemy goodies that the Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul mod provides. I'd like to try breeding all the new types of fish in captivity but the only fishery is available through Hearthfire's Winstad Manor - out in the marshes of Morthal. Doing the quest and buying the house is not really the kind of thing my current hunter/ranger character would do. I think she'd just set up a fishery and not bother with the people and the house and the house carl, etc.

Is there a mod for this? I looked through the Alchemy mods on the Nexus and didn't see anything obvious.

Also, if anyone had actually bred the CACO fish in the Hearthfire fishery, please share your info. I don't actually know that it is possible, I just assumed...

Thanks all!

There is/was a rod and net fishing mod on The Nexus which is quite fun. You have to craft the gear you use and have a chance of dredging up unusual treasures with the nets etc. IIRC, it also adds new kinds of fish. But there's nothing I know of for actually breeding fish in aquaria or pools.

That sounds pretty cool too, thanks.

FYI - I thought your Druid Spells mod sounded really cool, but the link turns up a hidden file. I hope you can share it again.

Here you go. Still in my Skyrim Mods folder in my browser:

B)

And, apparently, compatible with CACO, although I use my own Alchemy overhaul.

Winstaad Mine also has a fishery that you can build, but I don't know if your hunter/ranger would be interested in developing a mine just to get a fishery.

Probably a Bashed Patch that includes the leveled lists for your Complete Alchemy mod should reproduce the new fish in your fishery if you find a way to build it. You will find out for sure once you try to add a new fish to the fishery. It won't accept a fish if it won't reproduce it.

I use that one Sere, it works quite well. Add a fish, go play, come back in a few days and you have more fish. Like the hearthfire gardens. :)

Kami, dump in salmon roe, get more salmon, then fus, or shoot them with arrows to harvest more salmon roe.

Try http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/66511/? it doesn't add in anything except the ability to buy a home without going through all the quest's to do so.

Thanks for the tip, I've never used Wrye Bash but keep hearing about these patches. I watched some instructions and installed it last night. I generated a bashed patch (which, I think, covers every single one of my 60, or so, mods), but it didn't help with the fish from the Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul mod. The fishery only recognizes the vanilla fish. I know there's a way around this - can you please elaborate?

Nice! That seems like such an obvious addition for a house on a lake...

Hey! Are you thinking of the waterbreathing potion exploit? The Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul mod did away with that. Now, waterbreathing potions are only worth a little bit.

Nice mod, thanks! I love the logic of the mod author in the description. Hilarious...

Nope, I don't use CACO, so if I want salmon roe I just shout at or shoot them in the hatchery. One character I had only made waterbreathing potions to sell. :D

Adds a working fishing poll with casting animations. A must have for the avid fisher.

There are a few places where the fish seem to respawn faster than the fishery. When I put http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69061 entrance at the bottom of Lake Illinalta, I didn't know that there are two fish spawn points just outside. They produce fish every time I leave through the underwater door.

That is a neat idea for a player home - I've never played an Argonian but this kind of makes me want to...

The rapid spawning is pretty cool though I'm really looking for an option that lets me select the fish - particularly the new ones added by the CACO mod. The hearthfire fishery at Winstad Manor doesn't recognize those. I was hoping it would but it seems pretty silly, in hindsight, to think that it would.
