Any mods that change the way you use containers?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:04 am

What I'm looking for is a mod that makes it a easier and a less time constricting way to put items into and out of a container. Something like that of when you buy something from a merchant it appears in whichever window colored to show that you are selling or buying. Like say your an Assassin, and you just got done with a huge Assassination, and you have a huge haul of stuff and not enough gold to pay your fine. So you put all your items in some containers, go to jail and come back. That big haul you just put in the containers, you know have to individually select them all and drop them in your inventory. Is there any mods out there that make this easier?

The part I bolded already has "take all" for every container :P

I don't think anything like that has been made, tho I could be wrong. On the other I could be wrong on what you're looking for, but I frankly don't understand most of it.

Oups, ninja'd by Chaka. ^^

Anyway, to put the items in a container faster, hold Shift and then select/drop them in.
I don't know of any mod that change it to be like bartering though. Sorry.

I think I may have explained it weirdly:

Like say your an Assassin, and you just got done with a huge Assassination, and you have a huge haul of stuff and not enough gold to pay your fine. So you put all your items in some containers, which you have to individually pick up and place in the container, which takes an immense amount of time, go to jail, come back and then you get to press the "take all" button. Why can't there be a "put all in" button or something. Is there any mods out there that make this easier?

The game does that. The icon will be outlined in Red.
Clicking on that item will return it to the original owner's inventory... if that's you or the Merchant.

I have never seen a "Place all In" mod that lets you select more than one item... unless they are stacked, of course.

I know that the game already does that with the merchants. I'm talking about a mod that does that with containers as well.

As far as bartering, I'd like to be able to type in a number when haggling with the merchants. But even Fliggerty told me that MWSE can't even change that because the bartering system is hard-coded onto the game disc. :( Sure would be nice to type in your bartering price instead of using those arrows.

I see what your mean. You want a button to stick all your items in your inventory into an opened container.

It...might be possible with mwse.

if target is a container
if player presses keyboard button (whatever button)
cycle through player inventory, add item to container, remove item from player
continue cycle till all items are removed

Problem is that it could be used as an item repair cheat.

Not if MWSE reads all the items on the player as they are - its possible for MWSE to read all items and stil give the same ones back I used a simialr type script in my Ashes to ashes mods to remove all items from the vampires inventory then place them on the burnt corpse.

Kind of reminds me of LotRO. You can "mark safe" and it locks those items, and you can hit "sell all" and it just sells the rest. Idk if MWSE can do that sort of thing though it would be nice to have all your 'normal' items flagged or marked in your inv or containers.

Semi related, does anyone know of a "store all items of this type" item sorting mod?

There are only couple of alchemy sorting mods, but I'm pretty sure there is no mod that does exactly what you ask for either.

The LotRO thingy you explain would be totally neat tho.

the morrowind fps optimizer has a function called turbo haggle. it's not typing in the value, but exponential speed increase when using the arrows, which is at least a little better :)

I think container dynamics should work similar to bartering, instead of clicking and dragging every object you want to put in/take out, you should just have to click them once, it would make it so much easier.

There isn't any way to do so and preserve things like the condition and charge. MWSE actually uses AddItem and RemoveItem...there isn't any sort of MoveItem function. So it is in actuality creating a new instance of every item in the container.

It is possible with MWSE. In fact, I made some spells that do it in http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=1125.

*Transference: Cast a spell and everything in your inventory will drop to the ground. Or get close enough to an NPC or container, and the contents of your inventory will be transferred to your target. There are several versions of this spell: everything, weapons only, ingredients, clothing, potions, armor, books, and miscellaneous."
