Any Mods That Make The Game Better For Theifs?

Post » Thu Nov 04, 2010 12:16 am

I used to love going around the cities and sneaking into peoples houses and stealing things, but there was a point that i had stole basically everything worth stealing. Is there any mods that could make stealing even bigger. I noticed that none of the items respawned in the Imperial City. So what I'm asking is there any mods that make it better and funner to be a thief in the game?

There are mods that give value to the various clutter items, which would give you more items to steal. Also most containers respawn after 3 in-game days, even if the room's decorative items don't. There are also mods which assign ownership to the various boxes and barrels that you find lying around in the streets, which would make taking items from those count as stealing.

However I don't use them, so I couldnt point you to them directly.

Try this thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1075610-mod-detectives-109/page__st__140

This is a mod related question, so it should probably be asked in the appropriate forum.

Your problem is that you have to steal a lot of items to make it worth it. You're trying to remedy that fact by asking for mods that make items respawn; however, that is not that simple. It has been done for Welkynd Stones, but it wouldn't work that well with clutter items standing around in the houses, because you'd have to edit each one of them (as far as I know).

So... I propose you try one of the mods that change the prices of clutter items. I'm using and loving this one: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22089.
It may sound a bit strange, but I think if all the items have more reasonable prices and even robbing a pottery could be a good idea (which in vanilla Oblivion would amount to a loot of items worth 0 gold), that will make thieving much more fun for you. :)

P.S. Sorry about the links. I need to restart my computer. Someone should be able to find these pretty quickly, however.

Edit: Might as well get http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11911, but if you have the Bashed Patch (Wrye Bash), the alarm tweak takes care of that mods

Tamriel Integration Revised (T.I.E.)

Tamriel integration revised dont exist, i think you meant the TIE integration revised, which is something different from TIE. TIE stands for Tamriel immersion experience, it is the best overhaul for thieves and in my opinion the best overhaul ever. TIE integration revised is Only for use with FCOM and other overhauls i think.

Well, everyone sometimes makes a mistake...

BTW, there is also Running4cover's list of stealth mods lying somewhere on this forum, you should check it out too.

(Shameless plug)

Try this: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30496

It makes stealing and being a Thief in general much more interesting and diverse!

Combine that with StealthOverhaul and Reneer's Guard Overhaul, and your set.

Here are all the mods I use for my Thief expeirence:

Dangerous Trespassing: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30496 (makes it much more realistic and interesting)
StealthOverhaul: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6359 (good rebalancing)
Thievery in the Imperial City: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5156
Zumbs Lockpicking: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17894
Vaults of Cyrodiil: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9357
Reneers Guard Overhaul: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5977
Reneer's Knock Out Arrows (don't know the link)
Thievery_Normal_thrill (don't konw the name or link) which increases chance of finding chests and rare loot.
As well as:
Appler's Passive Birthsigns: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1075687-relz-applers-passive-birthsigns/
Using The Thief birthsign.

Also, grab Real Lights from All Natural atleast.

T.I.E. is good too with guards in shops, but I am waiting for the one that works with FCOM and doesn't break the Baraus quest.

Instead of Reneer's Knockout Arrows, you could try http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9655 which, I believe, includes a knockout arrow. It's quite good for thieves even if it doesn't.

In addition to above, try some of these (I think I'll be adding some of these to my new current game too:

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6187 - More rewarding loot list
no link but "Town Loot" can be found if you type this in Google: "town loot" oblivion
http://www.oblivionmodwiki.com/index.php?title=Artful_Thievery - ugh this is an old file too - I can't find the link to download this one. Will need to post in Buddah's looking-for-mods thread about this one

Here's one that is still out there that may make you feel better about the ones that are no longer easy to get - similar stuff: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=961 Phitts worthwhile thievery

Here's one you might like - you need to find the keys (locate them inside homes or on NPCs) to break into the wells for some decent loot:
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7829 - Well thief
