Cláirseach. Gaelic harp. Yeah, I got to collect stereotypes. Friend of mine plans to pick up the didgeridoo this year. We'll start the most awesome band ever.

Always played black metal or a crossgenre: trash, crust, funeral doom, folk/viking... The latter seems to be the highest form to me now. Never got a full line-up, because there are too many who aren't serious about what they're doing in this world and I couldn't care less about going live. Found someone who's got the right ideas and the complementary skill I was looking for about two years ago. He just left a band because of a lack of those ideas. We only meet to exchange our ideas and present the work we've done in a certain period. Why I play what I play. My feelings about globalization, nature, the current way of living (b?nderne), the destruction of my culture, religion (and the alternative), misanthropy, the state of the genre itself, the language struggle, moral and semi-political matter, certain things I presume I can't elaborate on within the current set of rules on this forum. That's all I care to share for now I guess.

BTW if anyone has any good drum VSTi's let me know, I'm getting sick of the standard FLstudio one (and my only other one is based off a SNES).

Solid_Moose, I use a drum sampler Vst called http://vemberaudio.se/shortcircuit.php. It should work with any sequencer program, but not 100% sure if it can used in the FLstudio wrapper. Shortcircuit is freeware and you should download v 1.1.1. There are reports that 1.1.2 is buggy. You will of course need drums samples to use it.
I use Reaper as a DAW. It records audio and does MIDI sequencing and Shortcircuit integrates into it flawlessly. Hope this helps.

@Ostrichman, thanks again for the heads up on Unsigned.com. I managed to put up a couple of tunes there. http://www.unsigned.com/raydaider to my page. Not sure if you have to sign up or not to listen......

Age: 19
Instruments: Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar (pick, finger, and slap styles), Drums, Keyboard, and I also experiment with death metal style vocals.

I've been playing guitar for around 8 years, and drums for even longer. Keyboard is something I've picked up recently and I'm still working at it. But I just mainly use it for adding to my music not really as a stand alone instrument, so I'm not very skilled at it.

I've been playing guitar for about 6 years now. Finally decided to get some formal training though so I could learn about music theory, and I really enjoy it. I have 3 guitars: an Ibanez acoustic that I started out on, an Epiphone G400, and I bought a PRS SE Custom 24 last summer. I love my PRS, it sounds amazing and plays much better than anything else I've used.

hmm, get someone on the gong and a fourth on a Native American flute and you could name yourselves the four corners.

And sound really strange.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk4NXIhNtwA&feature=related is basically Travis picking and he goes into some hybrid style picking through the break-down. Check out James Burton, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and Danny Gatton, all master pickers.

I have played guitar for about 3 years. I also play bass, drums and I like to sing.
I'm not that great musician, but I love to play any kind of instruments. :)

I mostly like to play metal, but everything goes. I make up my own songs,
or just play something that comes in mind and of course learn to play some songs
that I enjoy.

I'm 21 and have been playing guitar for about 9 years. I can somewhat pull off piano, drums and bass though.. well not so much piano and bass

Tryna save money for recording equipment at the moment. I've got about four albums worth of material I want to release with a couple of bands. The first album I'd call black metal, second and third have the same kind of riff style but are much lighter.. then there's some stuff I'll just call ambient I'm doing on my own.. like all black metal musicians

I'm a blues guitarist, everything from Robert Johnson to Stevie Ray Vaughan to John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. I sing too. I've been playing for about 7 years and I'm pretty solid. My lead technique can be sloppy enough, but I don't really care, as I love playing. I started a band with some close friends a few months ago and we're having the time of our lives playing, and I think that's what it's all about.

All of my friends except a few are musicians. I've only started playing guitar since last Christmas when one of those friends gave me the guitar he started with. It's a Johnson acoustic. Not too bad. I like to play blues and write silly songs that have no real meaning. :celebration:
Once I get a job I plan on slowly building my own little recording studio to have my own little one man band. I'm going to try and keep it a secret then give all my friends a copy of my E.P just for the shock value :P

Well I'm not really proficient in any one thing but I can sing. Have been doing that with a serious (though untrained) manner for about 6 years now. I've gotten better but still need a lot of work...I usually only sing songs that feel right to me, lots of rock and metal. Sometimes country, pop etc too.

Been playing guitar a bit over seven years, I guess I'm probably quite proficient by now? Though I always want to get better...

In a few bands, on guitar and/or vocals. I also own a bass, but I don't think that counts. Most guitarists who've been playing as long as me end up picking up a bass at some point...

EDIT: Oh, my main influences in terms of guitar playing? I dunno... I'm in a ska band and a drone doom band, so there's obviously influences there. Otherwise, some guitarists I consider influences are Hendrix, Iommi, Euronymous, John Fusciante, Jack White, Buckethead, Tom Morello... Obviously I don't sound like a mix of all of them, because that'd be awful, but I like those guys attitude towards guitar playing...

Mostly electric guitar (12 years?), but I sing too (3 years). I'm into music with genuine heart, fire and conviction. I play 2 Fender American telecasters and a Charvel tele into a Fender 1963 Vibroverb RI and a Mesa 2010 "Reborn" Dual Rectifier. Over the years, my main influences have been Jeff Buckley, maudlin of the Well, Devin Townsend, Porcupine Tree, Nina Simone, John Grant, Andrew Bird's Bowl Of Fire, Anna Calvi, Grinderman, Frou Frou/Imogen Heap & Akira Yamaoka.

"I am not interested in anything that doesn't have a genuine heart to it. You've got to have soul in the hole. If that isn't there, I don't see the point." - Nick Cave

More than one instrument.I can play trumpet, flugel, soprano cornet, cornet, tenor horn, baritone horn, euphonium, Eb bass tuba and Bb bass tuba. I also play recorder although only at a grade 2 level.

I'm in 3 different brass bands and an orchestra.

I player Guitar (Electric and acoustic), harmonica, bass guitar, violin, viola, and I can strum out rhythm on mandolins and banjos.

On guitar my principle influences are blues (Buddy Guy in particular), blues rock (Clapton, Allman), and rock guitarists (Nils Lofgren, Mark Knopfler, andBruce Springsteen (not a great technical player, but fantastic attack, energy and passion)). My favorite bass player is Paul McCartney.

I'm not currently in a band, but I would like to start a psychedelic/early hard rock trio or quartet (like Cream, early Zepp, and modern bands like Tame Impala or The Virginmarys), in which I would play guitar, sing, and play harp (harmonica)
