1. The Lincoln's rifle you are thinking of is his Spencer. Spencers load through the buttstock, Henrys load through the under barrel tube magazine. http://www.ahffirearms.com/products/HENRYLINCOLN.asp
2. The loading animation is mostly correct, though too fast. To load a Henry, you first run the spring follower (shown in the picture of the henry above, the small gold lever pointing down from the very front of the receiver just at the rear of the magazine tube.) forward into the swiveling end of the magazine tube. You then rotate the swiveling end to keep the spring follower/spring in place and bare the open end of the magazine tube for loading. Drop your cartridges in the magazine tube and rotate the swivel peice back in place.
3. This was a poor design for a magazine, as the open slot on the bottom of the tube was open to the elements and contamination could cause feed problems. This problem was rectified in the next model of the Volcanic Rifle descendents, the Winchester 1866, by the addition of the feed gate on the right side of the frame and a close magazine tube. But alas, Lincoln was dead before the 1866 came out.
