any news on radio freedom fix?

Post » Sat Feb 06, 2016 11:04 pm

Wondering if anyone has a fix for the freedom radio bug that negates the artillery. I use the artillery often as all my settlements have at least one artillery piece. I've tried many times to reconnect the wire to power the transmitter but i can't get the guy to sit back at the console. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you are on PC, there's a workaround using console commands (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5169/?). If you are on Consoles, then you will have to wait for gamesas to fix it.

There's a bug with that? Never heard of it.

Can you post a link so I can read up about it?

I don't generally use artillery or even pay very much attention to the whole MM stuff.

Yeah had the guy thinking the power was out and refused to sit down. I think I caused it when I accidently mass picked up the building I surrounded it with. So due to his nonsense he wouldn't use radio, and it affected the artillery. Couldn't get a work around on console or anyway to fix it. That was last run through and also not 100% that was the cause of it. Dunno if itll be fixed the upcoming patch.

It's pretty common. Old Guns quest. Google it.

Anyway to the OP, the new patch fixes it if you're on PC. I guess consoles will get the fix eventually. You do have to disconnect the cable and reconnect it again to get it to work. I've since been using artillery for amusemant as I've played to level 103 without being able to finish this early quest, so I feel I have to make up for lost time by bombarding everywhere for no real reason.

Sorry. I am ignorant. Done the Old Guns quest 6 times so far without incident so I had no reason or even a context to look it up.

I mean, after all, if I haven't experienced it, why would I care?

Even just a cursory glance at any Fallout 4 forums shows many people with this issue. I certainly read about it way before I experienced it myself.

Anyway no insult intended, so chin up.

Honestly after you finish enough quests from them its not a huge problem. Just stops the repetitiveness of it but can screw up some things if it happens too early.

I found keeping paths clear and not picking up huge things works and making smaller/less settlements helps control the bugs but not 100% sure on that. Just having less bug experiences related to settlements when I do less stuff.

I have been on this forum since it opened and have never read about this particular glitch even once. Sorry. I don't really read the "issues" forum, since I don't have them.

It's fine. I'll just have to keep it in mind. Once, and if, I experience it, I'll research it. Until then, I apologize for even asking for clarification.
