Any news on Werewolves or Vampires?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 9:20 am

I've read some of the other posts about Vampires and Lycans being included in Skyrim but I was wondering if anyone has heard anything new about them being included. In Oblivion, hunting down vampires and selling the dust or even becoming a vampire yourself was an awesome part of the game IMO. And being a prevalent part of the TES universe I wouldn't be surprised if they were added. What do you guys think? Which would you say is more likely to be included?

obviously vamps will be in, seeing how theyve been in all the games
i hope they have a clan based system unlike obliv vamps so theres actually a reason to become one
and werecreatures...
i hope against all hope but i doubt it
very sad day when i can walk through the skyrim wilderness and not fear an attack from a werebear or werewolf

Vampires I believe were already confirmed in. And I believe they were at the very least "looking" into were creatures. We will probably know something early next week. If not monday afternoon.

No new info yet. Maybe E3 will bear fruit?

I'm going to be optimistic and say both vampires and werewolves will be included.

On second thought, perhaps vampires and werewolves will be confirmed on Halloween? That would be perfect, no?

Probably won't happen, but it would be cool.

Oh well that's good. Selling vampire dust after duping it in the enchanted chest was actually one of my favorite ways to make money in oblivion. Btw I read your post about H2H and He-Man lol sorry for your loss.

Heh, same here.

Hopefully both, though vampires are more likely because they've been in the rest of the series. Werewolves might show up though, I think it fits well with the setting. Werebears and wereboar would be cool too, but far more doubtful if they're are only thinking to add in werewolves passingly.

I bet you both will be included.
Although, now that I think about it, an argonian werewolf sounds kind of funny to me. But on second thought, they're immune to disease... aren' t they? Except for that doesn't cover things like Hircine's ring. Oh Dear.

I think it would be cool if as a vampire you get stronger as the time goes but not like in oblivion where you have to feed...
Id also like to be able to become a werewolf.

As much as I want werewolves in, its not happening. "Well geez JasionJones how do you know this?" Well umm.... I don't but there's a 80% chance they will not be featured in Skyrim due to poor old Todd Howards thinking decisions. I'm sure Vampires are already in but I would doubt werewolves are in, Todd is always great for making up excuses and dodging fans wishes and questions. Altough "WERE-YETI'S" were mentioned back in Jan. and in my Russian Offiical Playstation mag. it shows a screenshot in 3rd person of your typical Nord character holding a Elven sword charging a 7 foot tall hunched back pure white coted Yeti looking monster with a pure black face and yellowish eyes. Maby this is the "WERE-creature you can turn into- a were yeti :celebration: NOTE: This thing looks nasty and looks like it could rip a Mountain Giants head off :bolt:

Spanish mag. confirming Yeti's and a few more bits of old and maby new info....... http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=199015&st=15

Vampires are the most likely to make a return, since they have been in every game since the beginning. Then again...there are quite a few things that have always been in the series being cut this time around. So who knows?
Werewolves have been confirmed to be coded into the game's engine, but they havn't said if it will actually make it into the game, they were still testing it last time it was mentioned.
Vampires have had no mention, from what I've seen and read. That may or may not be a good sign.

Werewolves have never been mentioned to be coded in, back in the Feb. IGN interview Todd said they are fans of that stuff too, and they do not know where all thats going to end up and he mentioned he does not want to get into the "things you can turn into" so theres more than 1 thing you can transform into..... but he never mentioned werewolves. I believe its a Yeti you turn into.

I'll bet money we get werewolves at some point.Be it in the vanilla game or DLC. I can't see them not doing them.

There should be different tribes/clans of vampire and werewolf. Depending on where you were infected with vampirism/lycanthropy would decide on which tribe/clan you should be a part of.

Here's hoping that werewolves make it in anyway... man, werewolves. <3

He mentioned they were 'playing around with them' in an interview. Its pretty much implied that they actually made them, but havn't decided wether or not to put them in the final game. He said he would only add them if he felt it would improve the game.

The Yeti your refering to was a prank/joke. It was an old prank/joke that was dissproven a while ago. Someone thought the frost troll was a werewolf, then someone else said it looked like a 'were-yeti', and it spread like wildfire. Its not true. Its just a frost troll.

I agree, but if they don't have werewolves in and they have wereyeti's than there's no point for throwing werewolves in for DLC when Bethesda can spend there time on somthing else......

Well thats not what the Spanish mag. says and on my screenshot the Yeti has 2 yellow eyes instead of the black 3 eyed Frost Troll.

You can't trust the Mags. Half the time the captions underneath the pictures are really just lame jokes the editors are making, and sometimes they are so lame, people can't tell they are joking, and think its true.

Why would they joke and lie when they are PAID to share info. The joke on that Frost Troll pic. back in Jan. must of been a joke but it was from an average dude that got info from the scans. In my screenshot it has a Yeti like creature with TWO yellow eyes and full white coted fur and looks totally different and alot larger than the 3 eyed ape like frost troll.

Ahhhhh, ok, I found the picture you were describing after a bit of a search. That is actually the concept art for the frost troll. You are indeed correct about it being larger and having yellow eyes. But it was just the concept art. The real frost troll ended up loking like the one in the game trailer. But they are the same creature, not a were-yeti.

In my sceenshot its in game and its a new screenshot and looks nothing like the troll unless they removed the 3 eyed varent or there's different types of trolls, but if its not a were yeti it must just be a yeti. I just found; It says on the screenshot at the bottom right hand corner "ICE YETI" so it is a yeti :celebration: Hey don't you remeber the frost giants from Bloodmoon?

Yeah they'll probably add them in like the Blood Moon DLC for Morrowind or have them in the game to begin with. I don't see how they could possibly pass it up I mean the setting is perfect for finding a small colony of werewolves somewhere or find them in caves every so often.
