Q; any other advantages to having light body frame

Post » Tue Feb 15, 2011 3:27 am

I like using strategy in shooters more than running and gunning, and the light body loadout might be exactly what I need to get to places and help my team finish objectives. But I know through previews that the light players can get swatted like flies by the other body frames, I'm fine with that and I think it makes great sense, but a majority of FPS skirmishes are faought either one on one or with a number of people fighting at the same time, in my head this equates to being wiped up like a stain during gun battles, because I never tested this game nor have I gotten a hands on. So I'm wondering, if there are any other advantages to being light body, and is he as fast as they make it seem he is. Like is he hard to shoot when he's moving and using agility?

He's faster and slimmer (smaller hitboxes) the agility makes up for almost every advantage the other body types have. You can also acces certain areas way easier.

Pros:
Faster
Can use SMART better than anyone else
Can get to certain areas faster

Cons:

If you intend to do head to head battle light is not for you. Want to sneak behind, above or around and then get the drop on them you want light.

train yourself so that if you see an enemy, you do a slide,
That way the fatsos wont be able to rip you to shreds with their epic guns
it may really piss some people off, but hey, you're at a horrible disadvantage
also, always stay near walls as a light,
that way you might be able to do some parkour trickery in order to get them off your back

Hope this helped!

Not entirely true since you'll be forced to go in a straight line when you slide and we don't know how fast you are when you do slide.......

it buys an extra second or two
Grenade launchers might go right over you and assault rifles cant get a headshot

It's better than just standing there like a piece of cardboard

For lights, the tackle slide is mainly a surprise-move, which is essentially the way run&gun works.

I don't mean the tackle slide
just sliding to get out of the way of bullets

I was aware of that. I just say "tackle slide" in general, my bad. Even though using the slide to actually tackle an enemy will probably help lights a lot.

Wasn't it also revealed that Lights had the exclusive ability of being able to wall-hop?

Some people aren't as reflexive, so sliding will help a lot.

I wonder if you can kill incapacitated people by slide tackling them? I remember if I read something about it awhile ago.

Be cool if you could......
(The knife lunge in Gunz the duel knocked people down and the guy who did it would switch to their primary and kill the enemy before they got up)

I just realized an extra reason you play light. You have a slim chance to run away from me.

I think that most of your kills as a light will be from the same kind of thing a scout in tf2 does, watch your heavier players and kill the guys that are weak and trying to get away from them. but you can still 1v1 people, you just need to use your speed and agility to make you harder to hit. You cant just stand still, aim, and fire while relying on your huge beefcake character to take heaps of damage and still be alive by the time your enemy is dead.
