I am a complete Fallout3 lover so i figured that I would try Oblivion. I like fantasy settings and have enjoyed many games in them. I just can't seem to get into Oblivion. Despite the fact that it has tons of Quests, I just don't get the same rush I get when i play Fallout3. Does anyone have any advice for Oblivion to get the same magic back? I understand people LOVE oblivion so please don't turn this into a which game is better thread. Thanks for all your input
I love both games. I find Oblivion to be dramatically larger, more factions that you can actually join, more quests, hundreds (yes, literally hundreds) of different caves, forts, ruins all over the place. What really brings it home for me is the nearly limitless ways of playing. There is certainly a lot of freedom in FO3, one of the reasons I purchased the game, but there is even more when you factor in the different races you can be, and the different powers that they wield.
You might dabble in a little magic in Oblivion. My mage has definitely been the most fun ever; custom class, custom rules, the ability to take down an enemy by lifting one finger, or if I prefer, take someone down with a single arrow or seriously a lot of fun for me, get into a melee battle with a big claymore with multiple enemies.
