We haven't had any pics or screenshots of the beast races released officially yet. They probably want to make sure they've got everything down before they make any announcements.

Nah Wolfwing, sorry. there was a thread, um, yesterday I think, about people wanting more variety in the screens and general consensus was that they will come when they come..... but PLEASE let it be soon

I always play a Khajjit....still hoping some day they go insane and allow Pahmer or Senche to be playable...:> Though I remember with Oblivion for the longest time the only Khajiit we ever saw was the one in the trailer that was grainy and could barly see it heh.

But that's only possible with mods, in other words, only for PC players, for people playing on the PS3 or Xbox 360, they just have to stick with whatever Bethesda goes with.

But anyway, we know nothing about what Khajiit will look like in Skyrim, but if I were to hazard a guess, I'd say they would be the same type as we saw in Morrowind and Oblivion, I think Bethesda would want Khajiit to stay as a stealth race since they've always been like that, so that rules out Khajiit types with abilities more appropriate for combat characters, and I can't see Bethesda going with Ohmes or Ohmes-rhat because when most mainstream fans think of Khajiit, I think we can safely say that they think of cat people, not elves, or elves with cat tails, and I'm sure Bethesda knows this.

Well, considering that they're not humanoid, I think that playing as them would be kind of difficult, though there are actually Oblivion mods that include them, I know I've seen them added to creature spawns in some overhaul mods and I'm pretty sure I also saw some of them in Anequina. I don't know of any mod that let's you ride them though but I wouldn't be surprised if it exists.

As usual, we will probably only get Cathay-Raht. The other breeds tend to not wander far from Elsweyr.

Mart's Monster Mod for OBlivion had Pahmars, non playable and always hostile, though.

As usual, we will probably only get Cathay-Raht.

I thought they were Suthay-Rath?

We have seen an argonian, as concept art in one of the GI videos. He's wearing boots, and looks a bit more reptilian than previously.
I'll post it on an image hosting site if anyone would like.

The Cathay variety. However, they'd be more like fast and agile nords than the sneaks we know with the Suthay variety. At least this is what I assume, as they're the tallest anthro and largest of the anthro breeds. The Senche, though, are the largest and tallest of the breeds, however they're really big battle cats to be ridden on, with their permission of course. The Ohmes variety is likely going to be more balanced, but in favor of speed and agility (due to looking very human/merish, depending if it's -raht or not).

Maybe they are, can't quite remember which is which. There are three mainstream breeds: the ones we see all over Tamriel, the grey nimble acrobats portrayed in the first chapter of "A Dance in Fire", and the huge tiger-like brutes that are the heavyweights of Khajiit military. People would like to see the latter two.

Only info:

"cool"
"more unique"

Which really decribes all the races.

It's interesting what they will do with the Khajitt look wise. If I remember my Lore correctly The Khajitt are seperated into different types of tribes in their homeland. So that probably means that we'll have different looking Khajitt skin wise.

One thing I'm a bit confused by....or maybe I'm missunderstanding. How exactly do the other breeds not go far from elsewyr....arn't what breed you end up as based upon the moons at birth? *or is it conception* or do they just ship back home any that are of the other breeds? or is that bit of lore wrong?

Okay now I'm not sure, I'm 80/20 it's not...but it's too hard to be sure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjqsYzBrP-M at 1:35, there is a hooded figure that looks like could be a muzzle sticking out from under it, what I thought was a tail might be a scabard as it's straight, but moves with the body like it's a tail....not enough time to be sure, though I'm leaning towards it's more of a scabard.

heh I guess I saw that wrong, though how do the differenet breeds work? My understanding from what I read was that the same parents can end up with 6 different breeds for kids based upon when born and such. Do Khajiit just time things so certain breeds are born outside, or do they ship them home? Or how does it all work?

Khajiit are each subtly bound to the Lunar Lattice, a mysterious force entitled the ja'Kha'jay in their native tongue. The Lunar Lattice determines the form a Khajiit assumes in life, according to the phases of Masser and Secunda at the time of their birth; while Khajiiti newborns appear incredibly similar to one another at birth, their future form becomes clear in a matter of weeks. This is due in part to the fact that, although born smaller than the children of either man or mer, the Khajiiti mature at a significantly faster rate.

It is imperative to note that while the Khajiit derive their natural form from the moons of Nirn, their peculiar tie to such is in no way related to lycanthropy, for, unlike that disease, it is neither contagious nor temporal. A Khajiit will retain its form of birth throughout their life and the moons, although they affect in what form the Khajiit will be born, do not affect it after that. Furthermore, there are no known shapeshifting Khajiit.

The Imperial-commissioned Pocket Guide to the Empire states that there are "more than twenty" forms of Khajiit, however, to date, only sixteen are known to exist.

I believe that the abundance of Suthay-Raht in Morrowind and Oblivion was due simply to game restrictions. It would be much too time consuming to design each of the separate Khajiit forms, when most are going to go with Suthay-Raht anyways. However, there was a mod for Oblivion that added the entirety of Elsweyr, along with all the Khajiit forms, so I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing was done in Skyrim shortly after release. Khajiiti are quite popular among the fans.
