Any Skyrim drawings or giveaways?

Post » Sat Oct 01, 2011 10:44 am

As the topic title says, I'm curious if anyone knows of any game news sites or stores or anything that is giving away a copy of Skyrim?

I know it's a long-shot to count on getting the most anticipated game of the decade in such a way, but it seems that is the only hope I have of getting it before it goes on clearance at Wal-Mart in five years. :sad panda: I LOVED Morrowind and enjoyed Oblivion, so I really don't want to wait to play Skyrim if there is any possible way around it (legally of course!)

So ya, anyone know of anything like this?

Just use redbox. 2 bucks a day for video games. Or gamefly.

I realize there are those other options, though really nothing compares to having a crisp, clean box and shiny disc and pristine map all of your own. I know......too much for a broke s.o.b. like me to hope for. I was spoiled when I won Bloodmoon from a radio station a few years ago (well, not really - I actually won a mall gift certificate and bought Bloodmoon with it.) Something like that really gets your hopes up that it can happen again, you know?

Hummm...perhaps many here do know of such a drawing but don't want to spread the word and decrease their own odds? Sneaky sneaky. :D

Dude it's not like it's a Mazaradi we're talking about here, it's a 60 dollar video game. Even when I was younger and didn't have a job or any allowance I would just rake/mow yards, save extra lunch money, dog sit, etc. If there's a will there's a way bro.

Ah, thanks man...so nice! And if I suddenly get rich I'll send you one. :)

I really don't want to get into a hard-luck story or anything. But when it comes to a choice of feeding my kids or playing a game...well, it's an easy choice. As it I work two jobs, any time spent playing only comes out of sleep time. But for Skyrim it'd be worth it!

So yeah, I found one drawing by Googling around for a Skyrim give away, but of course more drawings equals more chances to win!

Okay, here's a perfectly legal way to get a free copy of Skyrim for PC. It's a long shot but it's probably more likely than winning a drawing.

Step 1: Download and install Steam if you haven't already.
Step 2: Download and install Team Fortress 2, which should be free now.
Step 3: Play the hell out of Team Fortress 2 and collect a bunch of items.
Step 4: Trade said items to someone else for a preorder of Skyrim.

I've heard of someone doing this before. People go crazy for hats for some reason and will trade all sorts of stuff for them.

Oh, also try fiverr.com. Basically people pay you five bucks to do stupid little things like posting a video of you singing happy birthday to someone.

Are you buying your kids any gifts for Christmas or a birthday, like a video game called Skyrim?

I've definitely been there!

I know this is probably a typical response and certainly not something you haven't thought of already, but you could always try saving a little on each purchase you make for yourself. For example, if you get takeout, get something cheaper for yourself and put the difference in a "Skyrim Savings". Buy the generic brand of cereal at the grocery store, put a dollar less gas in your car each time you fill up, etc. etc. Even if it's a few cents, a dollar, whatever, it will add up over time. Picking up lose change you find in the street would still get you a copy of Skyrim faster than 5 years. lol  Then of course there is always selling old junk on Ebay or having a yard sale. Maybe your kids have old clothing or toys that you'll no longer need.

Good luck!

No offense but I find it highly pathetic that you can't scrounge up 65 bucks in 40 days.
