Any special ops type missions?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 1:36 am

Anyone hoping to see some special ops missions?

ie infiltrate a base at night without being seen, plant some explosives and blow the place?

maybe some assassination missions, killing a top ranking officer or something..

steal some highly classified enemy plans?

discuss.

No one knows, but Vulpes Inculta will be like Dark Brotherhood from Oblivion so I'd expect some nice assassination quests from him.

Nothing wrong with special ops etc.
I hate when people say it is'nt splinter cell or MW2,every other game out there has ideas from other games etc,its always been that way.
I base my character on me living in that enviroment /situation...& i would rather infiltrate/use stealth to survive ,rather than go guns blazing, but if people wanna go that way...brilliant :)
Nothing wrong with it.

You may want to try different pies ,experiment with pies.....but in the end...you know where you are with your old pie

You can sneak, you can hack computers, you can plant charges, its already in the game... its not MW2...jesus i wish people would stop that [censored]
All of the above & more are used in infiltration....get used to it.
And its a roleplaying game, people can roleplay what the hell they want to & should'nt be limited if possible...end of story!

Well if you get a mission to clear out some raiders then make it a special ops mission by roleplaying.
Bring silenced weapons, mines, c4 and stealthboys and go nuts. ;)

Ehhhhhh. It depends. If it's like Sam Fisher/CoD/MW2 stuff. Then no. But if its implimented elaborately similiar to that one quest in Oblivion where you have to break INTO the Imperial Prison, then I wouldnt mind, as long as its a very gruff medieval feel and not using a bunch of high tech crap to sneak in, leave all that high tech mess to other games.

Right, because doing stealth missions totally equals MW2!

I'm all for this type of missions, as they have the potential to be pretty fun, and they could give stealth-type characters unique missions, and so then I'd have to make a stealth character. :P

I barely use those as is. I wear Power Armor occasionally, but beyond 1 or 2 plasma/laser rifles for collectors purposes. I prefer bullet weapons xD.

i hear where your coming from on this and trust me
as a fellow stealth player in Fallout I love sneaking around

Although I find it doubtful that there would be a specific mission
requiring you not to be seen or anything in that sorts

But any quest you take could be treated as such if you work with it properly
since most quests in Fallout are designed to be completed in multiple ways

Exactly multiple ways meaning play as you like stealth, speech ,guns blazing whatever. But if tech is there for armor & weapons etc,it should be there for stealth as well it works both ways.
And i love my stealth characters too,its my best way of playing, but like i said if they use high tech for weapons & the like why not stealth too, does'nt mean its splinter cell or MW2,because at the end of the day fallout has these & its also an RPG,so it has way more to offer in my opinion :)

I....I...Was just testing you :stare:

But nah. I though Ballistics was missiles and explosive esque weapons. I always call 'bullet weapons' conventional weapons in comparison to energy weapons. But now I learned properly *Themoreyouknow.jpg*

If they made it so that the major quests can have different routes(ie, stealth route, charismatic route, a guns-a-blazin' route, etc), I think I'd like that more than just stealth quests.

I agree...cater for every playstyle....but some people when someone asks for stealth to be improved etc, go way of the mark & compare it to other games, its unfair & not needed.
Like i said if the tech is there ,be it for weapons or armor etc,it should be there for stealth & other skills too.
Also whether some people say its like MW2 or splinter cell etc,the fact is fallout can have all that plus a great story, more charater interaction etc...so in essence,it has most things from the most popular games aswell as its RPG elements etc, whats not to like about that,,it has what other games have & more,so its a better game ,if that makes sense.
In a nutshell : it can do what most games do,aswell as its own things....a better package.
Aslong as it fits the game/lore etc.

That's the beauty of the freedom in this game, you can make your own Black Ops missions, like sneak into an enemy base, plant C4 in all their pants, and watch it go BOOM!

DUH! Get with the program man, get out of the 90s, or wherever it was you came from. Anything that remotely resembles MW2, has got to be, undoubtedly, MW2 inspired! Geez, kids these days. Think you're talking to a Radroach. :P

Specific stealth missions are unneeded. As others have said, you can turn any mission into one of stealth by using silenced weapons, sneaking, avoiding enemies, etc.

One of the interviews had one of the producers (I think it was in Ausgamer) say that the developers have tried to build in a "stealth route" into every area or mission, one that has ample cover and avoids most patrols. They said they recognized that a lot of gamers loved sneaking, and tried to incorporate allowances for that in as many areas as possible.

All of you guys bashing call of duty and other FPS games realize that they didn't invent the term "spec ops" right? It's a real world term for real world agents/soldiers.
