Any survival elements?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 11:07 pm

Will we see any survival elements in the game or an option to enable them like in FNV, or must we wait for mods to take care of them?

Talking about food, water, sleep, heat/cold, realistic injuries, diseases etc.

Unfortunately animating these mods is troublesome so hopefully Bethesda has already worked on them or at least gives us the right tools to create them.

Any confirmed and official sources, I'm going to say no. Just like most features of this game, they have been tight lipped about it.

Speculation wise, I think there might be. Between the Endurance video, enhanced crafting, and Fallout shelter mechanics, there is some degree of survival elements. The same depth as F3's wanderer's edition mod or skyrim equivalent, I don't think so.

Going by the E9 perk, we might also have to contend with radiation storms. That's something I'm interested in.

Nothing confirmed one way or the other yet. However as far as I can tell, a significant amount of people would like to see some form of survival aspects included. As such, if it's not in the game, there's a very good chance some wonderfully talented people will create some nice survival mods for us.

The "closest" I've seen to confirming food and water will play some part in the game is during the base construction demo's when they show water pumps and tomato plants being set out.

Now if that's going to affect your character personally or if its about how fast you draws 'settlers' to your base is up in the air.

Really all I can say is yes you can grow food and pump water.

Also a cooking station can be seen in the E3 demo, dunno if that's anything to do with survival but it is food related
