Or am I the only one who plays Skyrim exclusively on third person? After all, not all of us are fond of seeing just the character's hands during the action.

I doubt you are the only one, but alas for me it depends on what I am doing at the time.

Here's one. My game stutters in first person, and in general I prefer to be able to see more around my character. Fighting multiple enemies is easier in 3rd person and I like watching my Dovahkiin whirl around in black robes with his Ebony Greatsword. Swinging to the left and cutting down 5 Draugr is so satisfying in 3rd person.

And I think RPGs are best played in 3rd person whenever possible. Though I do say that in past Elder Scrolls games 3rd person view was a bit of a liability as it was so obstructive and I mostly play Oblivion and Morrowind in 1st person.

I very rarely use 1st person (only when picking things up)

Archery is quite easy in 3rd person.

Edit- some of my character are 1st person only. (Playing with HUD off)

I hate 1st person combat though.
e.g.- in 3rd you can spin around with a power attack but in 1st your arms just go across the screen.

I also like seeing my character. 3rd person is alot better. 1st person needs some attention.

3rd person always, i only use 1st to pick things up or if i think i need a closer look at something

I mainly play in 3rd. I do however, switch to 1st, if I am shooting arrows or trying to find something or pick up an item form a plate.

None the less, it's 3rd for 95% of the playthrough.

I simply like using melee weapons and such in third person in my games.

I play in 3rd person in Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind. 3rd person is not as good in Morrowind as you can't zoom out, but I still prefer that to playing in first. When I play in first person, I feel like I'm going to trip over something any minute because I don't know where my feet are.

Sometimes I use it for archery, though, or for picking up items.

When I first started playing Skyrim, I only played in first person, but that gradually changed, and now I play almost exclusively in third.
