Any Tips For Maximum Difficulty?

Hey everyone! Can't run Skyrim on my notebook so until I go back home I've decided to revisit Morrowind. About two years ago I played Morrowind extensively but mods got the best of me and I never fully completed the game. Back then I played as a Dunmer Atronach caster on normal difficulty and flew through the game. This time I really wanted to challenge myself and do a Dunmer Warrior (I decided to go Atronach, its my favorite birthsign) at max difficulty. My skills are as follows: Long Blade, Block, Marksman, Armorer, Medium Armor; Speechcraft, Alchemy, Athletics, Acrobatics, Blunt Weapon. Right now I'm working on the Fighters Guild and Imperial Legion, but after that I plan to move on to the MQ for a bit then focus on House Redoran.

So far as expected everything is difficult but manageable. I'm not fully armored, I just have a Bonemold Shield and Bonemold Armor (Chestpiece). I'm using an Imperial Steel Sword and that about all I can afford right now. Doing the first two FG quests in Balmora I noticed I really am struggling when fighting two or more enemies. Ancestral Guardian and potions seem like a must or I'm dead. Usually my tactics involve trying to get a sneak attack with my bow, then constantly strafing left to right, right to left while hitting enemies. For rats and critters this works but for human NPCs its not quite as simple. Any advice or will I just have to wait until I can invest in better gear?

Thanks in advance!
