Any way to get rid of these items?

Is there any way to ditch the cobalt, tungsten etc. after completing the Cambridge Polymer Labs quest? They're still marked as quest items.

Yes, but only if on PC and can use console commands.

You can use player.dropitem (item ID) command to force dropping the quest related items like these that still stay after qiest complete.

For the item IDs just google and you'll find the wikia page that lists all the IDs of these remaining materiaS

No dice, I'm on XB1. I knew cc would be the 1st suggestion when I realized I failed to mention this.

Thx anyway

If it's any consolation, quest items weigh nothing in your inventory regardless of what they're listed weight may be. Maybe you already know this, but I've seen a lot of posts for Bethesda games that were confused on this. I wish quest item weight was just outright set to 00 or -- instead.

on one of ghe pages i googled when i had this same issue, but used console as that was easier / faster, another solution was mentioned but i cant swear to how it would work.

Sounded logical but i cant think offhand any crafting that would use all 4 of the remaining bugged items. The gold one, sure. But the cobalt and others not sure if non console solution given would work since i do a ton of crafting but cant recall a recipe that used them.

Anyway, what it said was that you could rid yourselves of these leftover bugged items not losing quest tag by crafting, long as you had anolyzed them so it now said gold instead of sample # whatever.

Then make sure somewhwre like Home Plate with no access to supply line, and empty HP of a y craft supplies that comflict - and simply craft so,ething that uses 1 gold.

Logically, that sounds like might work for gold item as there are recipes that iss gold, unless quest tag prevents consumption, but i really cant think of a single thing that crafts with cobalt and the other leftovers

Sadly yea, eternal quest items still exist though they've been really limited from what I've seen so far.

Given the horrible UI, or lack thereof, i suspect most people will be bothered less by the zero or minimal weight even if it had any, than by the clutter of more things to scroll in a UI that is already painfully bad to manage inventory.

They're Misc Items, not Junk Items, so they don't break down into components from crafting. And Gold is the only one of those elements that actually is a compound.
