Any way to remove Dawnguard DLC?

Post » Tue Nov 01, 2016 2:18 pm

For PS4? It's ruining the fun with the vampires killing important NPCs and shop keepers and blacksmiths... I keep trying to reload auto save to try to save the blacksmith in whiterun from being killed but the master vampire just keeps 1 shotting her... I hate this DLC. on my xbox 360 I just didn't buy the DLC but it seems on PS4 we don't have a choice.

I don't like seeing so many NPCs being slaughtered in all the towns, it just ruins the fun of the game, it's also why I never do the main quest at the beginning of the game so dragons never spawn because they also kill important NPCs. I don't even feel like playing the PS4 version any more and I guess I'll just stick to playing on PC unless there's a way to prevent the vampire attacks or delete the DLC if anybody knows? Thanks for any help...

This is a PS4 mod, thus should exist for all platforms. XBox and PC may have better alternatives.

This does of course only help if you're willing to forego achievements. If you're not, like me, then the only option you have is to simply not level (by entering the level up screen) until Dawnguard is out of the way. I'm still level 1, and the game's pretty easy because the enemies are all at their weakest while I keep powering up my skills. Sure the loot you find is awful, but that's why you do Dawnguard as early as you can.

Why? Because precious trophies will be disabled? It's literally ONE mod that changes ONE thing...no vamp attacks in TOWNS. They still attack outside of towns. This is still pretty much a "vanilla" play through no matter how you slice it.

If the question "is it a mod?" results in an answer of "yes", achievements get disabled.

Heck, I could upload an empty ESP file with nothing in it and it would still block achievements.

Thanks so much! I haven't looked into any mods on PS4 and didn't know there was any so this will come in handy. As to your option #2, are you saying if I do the Dawnguard quest line and finish it, then vampires won't spawn in cities any more? I might do this too if true. So without a mod I could still finish getting the rest of the achievements so I will probably do it this way.

Yes, once Dawnguard is done the vampires stop attacking villages. You'll see the odd group on the roads at night but the attacks that cause everyone problems in the villages won't happen again.

That one delays vampire attacks so they won't start until you're level 255 :)

You can avoid vampire attacks if you avoid being in town 9 PM to 5 AM. When I fast travel I just make sure it's daytime when I arrive. Couple of slip ups in my current run. Got 2 vampire attacks, and no civilian casualties so far.

When you accidentally trigger vampire, run indoors and wait until day time to fight them. Vampires are much weaker during day time.

On the 360 I just would not fast travel, if you travel the roads by foot you can kill them in the wild and have a smaller chance of encountering them in towns.
