No, but the reverse is sometimes true. I'll sometimes use sub-par outfits or equipment if they look awesome.

I used the Hunting Rifle and the Cowboy Repeater so much I pretty much can't stand them on this playthrough, and my interest in Energy Weapons dwindled after having played Fallout 3 extensively.

I modded my hunting rifle and put a scope on it for further range. So far it's a decent looking gun. I'm going to have to buy the custom bolt and extended mags since I got gold from Sierra Madre.

Not with weapons since I like the look of most weapons anyways, but armor is another story, I never wear a helmet, it's always authority glasses and 1st recon beret, even if I have access to the lucky shades I won't wear them.

Yeah, I don't use some armour because of how it looks.

Not really for the weapons, I could care less what the colors are. Armor though, that's a different story espcially with female characters.

I don't use This Machine or That Gun because they look terrible (even though the .223 Pistol sprite in ye olde Fallout looked so awesome).

I don't use the heavy frame on the .44 Magnum because it makes it look terrible. I also don't use the Mysterious Magnum because of its stupid sound effects.

I'd never use Maria because it's hideous, nor the scope on a normal 9mm Pistol (though the 9mm is pretty meh looking in general).

I particularly like how the Laser Pistol and 10mm Pistol look (clearly I like sort've boxy pistols) so those two pretty much always wind up among the weapons I carry around.

I rule out probably a quarter of the weapons in the game due to them being so ugly. Even more than that among the armor.

The K-9000 Cyberdog gun. It looks really lousy, all massive and unwieldy with a backpack and everything. It's such a shame because I love the idea of a doggy brain enhanced gun. And I love the way it makes little doggy sounds. Such a shame it wasn't a bit more compact.

I don't use the Reinforced Combat Armor, regardless of how good people say it is. I just think it looks horrible.

my last 50 hours or so i was only using the M1911 with HD slide a fully upgraded hunting shotgun with slugs and dragon breath ammo and for when [censored] get up close a balistec fest lol as for armor the brotherhood t45d and riot gear but 1st recon barret plus josuas armor = critecal hits [censored] lol

Yeah, now that I have upped the difficulty to Very Hard, I find myself forced to use the AMR... too bad.

I don't use a ton of things because of the way they look. Brush Gun looks like it's been buried under ground since the Great War so I don't like using it.

Yes, some weapon and armor I tend not to use because they look rediculous.

I found that i prefered the look of alot of the lower lvl items to the higher end so i used the GECK to mod them so they can be used at a higher lvl. I never was a fan of how the plasma weapons looked in 3 and NV with the exception of the plasma defender (one of the best looking weapons in the game imo) because they so fragile it felt like if id drop them they would break. Also id actually use heavy weapons if they didnt have the giant ass back pack attached the the model.

I'd use the K9000 and FIDO more if it weren't for their tinted scopes.

I don't choose my gear based on appearance, but rather how well it fits my character's RP. Within those limits I tend to use the best stuff available, unless said RP calls for specific items.

There are some weapons I've never used at all, but those are low-tier items that are generally replaced almost immediately anyway. I generally don't use Melee or Unarmed weapons of any sort, but I do have a character who wields a Proton Axe as it goes well with his suit of Gannon Family Tesla Armor.

I do this allot for exsample i wear advanced combat armor mark1 instead of mark2 just because i find that mark2 has a ugly collor and is verry bulky.
Other exsamples are the hunting rifle because it looks to broken down (really needed a condition mod).
And the stupidest is that i don't use the marksman carbine and the AA because they have carbon fiber parts and one of those rails on them, i just don't find that a verry fallout-ish thing (still look great on it's own though).
I can live with the assault carbine because it looks more all metal.

I like the desert ranger armor from HH over the LR riot gear, advanced and elite. Obviously there are a lot of perks for using the elite riot gear...but it's so bulky and I can't stand the black and white "sneak vision." Plus the desert ranger armor says "forgive me mama" on the helmet. SWWEET! I do however, love how the riot gear helmet's eyes glow red.

I think all of the energy weapons look like kid's toys.

They used to look cooler with everything, their model, their laser/plasma and their death animations, hell even their sound effects were better.
