Anybody else find OWB really tough when you're about Lvl 15-

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 9:24 am

I'm playing it at the moment, and I'm going through stimpaks like nobodies business. It does say that it's for levl 15+, so I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I couldn't really wait to get in on the DLC again on this playthrough. Anybody else have this situation? I've not died yet, but I've gone through about 30-40 stimpaks and lots of nuka colas trying to stay alive.

Yup, I'm level 38 I think and I'm having trouble. I went in with a 120-130(somewhere around there) stimpacks and around 15-20 Super stimpacks and know I'm down to 70 something normal stimpacks and 5-10 super stimpacks. A suggestion: use a proton(inversal)axe(or the antenna weapon you get in a mission) against the robot scorpions and other robots you find, it does more damage and stuns them and knocks them back.

Well i was lvl 30 and i was pretty much [censored] (b4 i actually started to think) i had used mostly all of my ammo, but in the end i made a major blow and got over thousand rounds, using one of the perks to make scrap into ammo and stuff. I had problems with health, but i just took short trips and went back to the autodoc when i needed, and mostly tried to not engage the enemies unless i had full health.

So it was hard in about the middle, easy in the begining and end of the game.

wiki says it can be a problem for people up to lvl 40, as many enemies lvl up with you

I've been using those quite a bit, I stumbled upon their usefulness when I reached the X-8 Facility! I'm planning to load up on my Melee so I can get the most out of them. Only problem with the Antenna is that it's getting quite damaged and it's going to cost a bomb to fix I think!

When I've seen mass battles, I've just ran for it. For example, after doing most of the stuff in the X-8 place, when

you've just gotten the 'Gabriel's Bark' thing, and the robo scorpions appeared, I killed the first few small ones , went upstairs and saw the couple of small ones and the big one, I just legged it to the door and ran all the way back to the Think Tank!

The only time it's difficult for me is when Nightstalkers are involved. Then my tactics always seem to fail.

Otherwise, I wear some Combat Armor and use the Proton Axe on just about everything (and switch it out for the Inversal one when I find it). I try to use hit and run tactics on enemies and if I can't do that, then I let them come to me in hallways, around corners, behind rubble, basically whatever keeps me out of their LOS for as long as possible and keeps the fights one-on-one. It's only when I charge in to everything that I end up getting badly hurt.

I've not come across them in OWB just yet. Only lobotomites, Roboscorprions, and a few other robots. The hit and run tactic is what I'm employing right now. Seems to be working better, I've given up on projectile and energy weapons for the time being.

I took the perk animal friend specifically for the nightstalkers. No problem whatsoever. LOL

Each DLC contains something that is annoying/dangerous about it.

Honest Hearts: It's the traps that are laid out, as well as the White Leg Snipers.
Dead Money: Everything about it is dangerous. The radios, the gas, the [censored] holograms, this list could go on forever.
Lonesome Road: The enemies are very well equipped (Anti-materiel rifles and riot shotguns, etc), as well as there are constant packs of deathclaws, and the Tunnelers are a pain to deal with.
Old World Blues: Every NPC that you can fight is a bullet sponge, and takes ridiculously long to kill.

Dead money aint that hard, its only yhe radios and the gas, Holograms are easy to avoid if u still got your pair of brains (from before u got shot, or lost it in OWB LOL)
