Anybody else still squeezing the Juice from Oblivion?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 10:48 am

Am I the only one here who is still squeezing the last drops of juice out of Oblivion? I am, I am still playing it sometimes, my sister is too, but she is much less of a Gamer, and doesnt play it much. You know when you have an awesome game when you are still squeezing it out for several years, I mean, I love a strategy game, called Age of Mythology, I played it sooo much, it was, like, the only game I played, until Oblivion, then I played that alot, along with other things, mainly strategy games.

But what about you? You still squeezing? If not, are there any games that deserve recognition for the amount of time you have spent on them?

I don′t know if I squeeze but I still play, and the last drops are nowhere to be seen.

Aye, a number of us are still plugging away at it. Like mirocu I don't plan to abandon the game any time soon, though I will likely go on something of a sabbatical while Skyrim is new and shiny.

Regardless of how well I like (or dislike) Skyrim, I plan on at least one more thousand-hour-plus play-through of Oblivion...assuming my current 1.6k hour play-through ever ends.

I've just started a new character yesterday, after a long period of not playing. Really enjoying it! :D So I think I'll still play during the first few weeks of Skyrim.

Lookit! You aer of the knights who say Ni! :D

The first few weeks of Skyrim are gonna be messy. There's no way I'll be done with Kate's game (TG and DB) yet I'll be so tempted to just jump over to Skyrim. I'm not sure once I make that jump that I'll wanna come back to Cyrodiil for awhile. I'm already feeling conflicted and even a little sad about it.

Brrrr...

But, yeah, I started a new game as well, heavily modded :P (although I dont really like mods thatr much, apart from things like CM partners and stuff I think if I have to many it just gets really messy)

After getting my character killed (at level 1... *sobs*) in our http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1242193-the-oblivion-dead-is-dead-thread/ I'm resurrecting her almost even as we speak with a slightly different appearance.

Heck, after only 4 years and a few months, I'm still playing OB every day. And with the same character since April 2009. But with a good game, five+ years is pretty normal for me.

Squeezing the last drops?! Not at all, I have done about 70% of Oblivion on a character I started in 2008.
There's no way I'd say I'll be finished next year or 2013.

Eh, I just can't get back into Oblivion. I boot it up and just a few seconds later I get bored of it. I mean I had a great time with it when it was new but I think I've retired it for awhile at least.

Is Oblivion ever over? :obliviongate:

Most of my activity between games is off-and-on (like right now I am rather engrossed in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but I will return to Oblivion eventually). I'm not sure about how Skyrim will affect things at this point, as I am still debating either getting it while fresh or waiting a year or so until all the patches and DLC are out. I've still got plenty to go by in all four of my Bethesda titles. Oblivion especially.

Well, I have only been playing for just over a year. My first character retired with 540 hours and I am approx 190 hours into the second. I cant go 100 yards in Oblivion without discovering something new. The 2nd character is more focused and often finds new locations that she doesn't have time (or is unable to carry any more loot) to explore. The map contains markers of locations that I haven't even ventured into yet. Last night I entered a ruin that I had previously explored, but upon inspecting the map I noticed a substantial portion was still grayed out. As I made my way through the ruin, I encountered several new rooms with additional loot including 2 varla stones. I have yet to complete all of the quests. Only finished MQ, MG, KOTN and about to complete DB. I have visited and explored the SI extensively, but only done a few quests there. In short. I am nowhere near having to squeeze. The fruit still has visible flesh left.

I have been fortunate that I could leverage all of the knowledge and insights of players on this forum as i worked through Oblivion as a new player, and this has enhanced my experience with the game. As pay back, I will be a trail blazer in Skyrim and should be playing it as of 11/11. However, Oblivion will remain on my 360 hard drive for some time to come, and I will enjoy at least two varieties of juice for sometime into the future.

I found that I couldn't get back into it but recently I decided to play through on a harder difficulty and without fast travel.

It changed the way I play.

You Diggers sure have a nice way with words: “Squeezing the juice out of Oblivion.” Well I guess you could if you went to Skingrad and went to work for Tamika Wines. They occasionally turn out a really exceptional vintage. Just outside the west gate at Skingrad there’s a nice little vineyard where you might find a few graqes to squeeze. Then there are some gardens scattered around various places that may offer promise of finding some juiceable stuff. Let’s see, there are tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes that could be used. Potato juice, yuk! Anyway, we’re all still squeezin’.

You know, last week I had a really bright idea, or so I thought. I was wondering if Skyrim’s PC user interface (the keyboard buttons) would be different from Oblivion - they always are, so I decided to unlearn (is that a word?) the keys by going back to Fallout 3. Well after two days in FO3, I was sure I had ‘unlearnt’ it and was comfortable with my reflexes in the game again. Then, guess what? I slid right back to Oblivion. So I guess I’m still squeezing, too.

I am dead serious when i say this: I will never stop playing Oblivion. I have at least 10 characters in mind for the future plus hundreds of amazing mods to try out. :tes:

I'll play Oblivion right up until 11/11/11. There's still a lot I could do in Oblivion, but I just won't get to it all.

I'm making another run through Oblivion with a pure mage which is a character I've never actually played before. I'm having fun with it. Doing the MQ, Mages guild, and the Dark Brotherhoof .

Why does this topic remind me of The Lemon Song by Zeppelin?

I am not trying to coax one last bit of entertainment out of Oblivion before Skyrim comes out. I am playing it because is it still fun, and I still have ideas for characters. I could not give two septims for Skyrim.
