anybody having crashes with no error on PC

Post » Mon Dec 05, 2011 3:51 am

It just seems this game wont let me play it. I will start by saying I run the game on max settings except ultra shadows.

But it seems everytime I fasttravel there is a slight chance that the game will buckle and send be out to windows with no error message.

I have also had other crashes but its more apparent when I fasttravel.

Sometimes the textures in my game turn blue like the game could not load the texture or something.

At this stage im considering giving up on this game since the crashes have been increasing, today I had some kind of steam patch put on which reset my graphic options but that made it worse now I have holes in the ground and moved around texture.

I have only ever crashed once and I didn't get an error message. I was looting a body and when I either exited or entered the menu it crashed. Game also froze once too and I had to task manager it.

Have you tried "verify integrity of game cache"? I was having some kind of crazy speed bug that made it impossible to play, I did that and it seems to have fixed it.

I've crashed twice in about 70 hours of play, but nothing like the countless times i hear other people describe.

One CTD-to-desktop in maybe 40 hours total, for me. So far Skyrim has been much more stable than Oblivion on my computer.

I have updated all system drivers, I have verified game cache.

I have reduced sound quality in windows since someone said that might be the problem.

I have tried to run it without steam.

I am running out of options.

it happens to me at random times, but it is not that much of a bother because it happens very rarely, so I am just gonna wait till a patch

I had several in one day like two days after launch. It seems to have smoothed out a bit for me now though, and I get maybe 1 or 2 a day. Not sure what the bug is or what causes it because it really does it whenever it wants.

Fps is great(for this pc) = 25-35 outdoors and 45-60 in dungeons.

No errors no crashes.

Yes sometimes it just CTDs. I think it's because of memory. Try restarting the game after a few hours of play time and it should be fine.

I've had a few CTD with no errors, it just drops to Desk Top as if Skyrim wasn't ever running. It's only happened about once every 15 hours of play though. There's enough auto saves and I quick save fairly often so it's not really a hassle as I can just start up again and hit continue within about 30 seconds. I rarely lose more than a few minutes play.

My game froze tonight , I don't know why and I had just killed a dragon lucky from me I saved when I grounded him. But I had to reboot and when I hit the desktop short cut the Steam logo box came up and in it the words ... Installing Netframe work which it had already done when I installed the game and before I did I got the lastest ATI drivers. Anyhoo I cancelled the install as that was hanging as well and when I hit the DTSC again this time the game came up.

This.

Oblivion is the all time leader in career crash to desktops, and crash to desktops in a season, game, 3rd and 4th quarter crash to desktop comebacks.

I've just had a few random crashes with 77 hours of gameplay. It's so much better than Oblivion, which crashed even when you clicked "Exit Game".

I think Skyrim is Bethesda's most stable TES launch yet.
New Vegas was the last game I was playing a lot, because of this, Skyrim is practically bug-free in comparison!

Have you tried disabling autosaving? I know this caused a lot of issues in Oblivion when fast travelling and resting

Yes it has happened to me a few times for no reason. One time it was drinking a potion in a shop. But if I go back and try it again, it won't crash.

I've had it happen a few times. It svcks when it happens in the middle of some epic fight and then the game just..shuts down.

CTD once during an epic "cutscene" during a Thieves Guild mission.

I yelled at my computer. Then started Skyrim back up and had no problems.
