Anybody here capable of tutuoring a newbie in modding?

Reason for wanting to mod (for Fallout 3, at least): I've always wanted a quality interactive companion for Fallout 3. Oblivion has one. Skyrim has one. Even its successor New Vegas has one.

I'm not talking about those bare-bone and static companions that the Fallout 3 modding community already made (i.e. Jessi) [no hate intended at all] or those mods that "improve" an already existing companion. I want a mod like Vilja or Willow; a mod where the companion interacts with the world and feel fleshed out.

Somewhat recently, a modder named thefourwings released a mod that partially met the crieteria I stated above. However, it wasn't as "interactive" as I thought it was. It did what it was made to do (improve the main story), but I expected something so much more. I guess I was giving it hype it didn't advertise.

My skills with G.E.C.K: Awful in the grand scheme of things. I can do SOME basic stuff , such as change the value of an item or change the name of something (VERY basic stuff). However, complicated things like scripting, creating new areas, and creating quests - nuh uh. No chance.

Why I'd prefer not to use online guides: I hate tuturial guides. I'm just not compatible with them. I really don't want to elaborate on this matter, but if needed/requested, I'll bite.

Have you seen the best companion mod available for Fallout? Of course, I'm talking about Brisa Almodovar http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/14448/?
