Anybody kind of tired of the save the world route these game

That...doesn't make sense. Why would you want to play a background character? I don't know how that can be exciting. When people fantasize, they are always the center of the fantasy. Why have a fantasy where someone or something else is the 'hero'?

maybe some people like the role of the side kick or just a tavern owner or a merchant or an merc over the great hero.

See my previous post, you can still play the hero (or anti-hero) without having to Save the World?. Character-centric plots in many ways can deliver greater emotional impact and provide a greater story-telling experience than an event based Save the World? plot could.

If TES games were story-based linear RPGs, I'd probably find it boring, unless it had a really well done story and characters (like The Witcher, or KotOR).
But , fortunately, they aren't, so I'm not really concerned.

No. I'm not tired of saving the world. But I'm tired of playing godlike characters. I rather play a character who needs support and doesn't alone fight against dozens of enemies.

I have great hopes for the MQ. It doesn't look like either side of the civil war is exactly in the right. With the Empire banning the worship of Talos and the Rebels willing to shake things up in order to accomplish their goals, I think both sides have possitives and negatives. The true enemy, the Thalmor, seem to have their hands in Skyrim's dealings somehow. Those elves are the ones we have to keep our eyes on. I personally hope the team takes advantage of two things here. One is the fact that Alduin is a time god...and time can be a fun thing to mess with in a story. And the other is the story of Ysmir. After he visited the Graybeards, Nords could only see a dragon when they looked at him. I'm hoping the same happens to us, and someone smart enough paints us as a bad guy after that - saying we are working with the dragons and thusly each side throws us out and everywhere we go we're treated like a villian.

There's a lot they could do, and I'm looking forward to how SK plays out.

Didn't vote because you don't know if the MQ will be boring or not.

Yes that still remains to be seen lol.
