Just saw the live footage of the tornado in Tuscalusa (spelling?). Looked pretty bad.

Supposed to hit here in NC. I haven't seen anything yet. We got it pretty bad a week or two ago. A couple dozen dead, neighborhoods wiped, flooding. I was at the mall though, the parking garage flooded haha.

Living in Britain, where the wildest weather we get is drizzle, I find it amazing that people choose to live in a place where the wind can destroy you, your house and all of your posessions.

Most parts of KY have been under tornado warning/watch for a good week now and most of Louisville is under water all the streets along downtown and river and up to the top of the stop signs in water...I tomorrow I am going to take pics of the drag strip along the Ohio Valley you can race boats there now and if it rains a couple more days you wont need to drive there...

90% of Westport KY and flooded and people have had to leave.

I imagine there are a multitude of reasons. First and foremost probably being that many people can't afford to move to a place where a natural disaster is unlikely. Another reason is they are willing to accept those risks because they love the area they live in. Maybe they don't want to uproot their kids, taking them away from friends and family.

Yeah it's been pretty nasty this week. It's moved east (about a state) for today so ARK is pretty much out of tornado trouble for now at least. But 40-80 (today it's 80 atm, probably will be a lot more by the end of the day) tornadoes per day since I've been looking into it a few days ago. I did think it kind of odd for the same area to be under a moderate to high risk for severe storms for 3 + days. Bringing up percentages I rarely see when I look into it..45% chance for tornado is extremely high (usually it's 15% for somewhat bad storms) and even up to 60% chance for wind damage (yesterday had this). Saw some 275-350in in diameter hail reports from yesterday too. It's pretty bad if you're living in that area.

The southern East coast is up for tomorrow but it won't be anywhere near as bad as these past few days have been. 1 of the twisters even caused 3 deaths from what I've read, so be careful if you live in these areas. Today is the biggest day out of the past 3 though for this weather, tornado wise at least.

Tell me about it... We had a snow-storm and a thunderstorm all in the same day a week or two ago... Weird....

It's a beautiful country, but I haven't chosen, per se, to live where I do. My hubby and I would love to move someday, either to a different area of the country, or to an entirely different country--we're not quite sure...

Thankfully, I'm not anywhere in those storms now. We get tornadoes in WI, but not as often as many other states.... I would never be able to live down south--more tornadoes, more spiders, more things to terrify me.... *shudders*

Ugh, I hate snow! Especially after this winter! I would never move to Siberia! I'm thinking of either moving out west, or to a country where there isn't a ton of snow in the winter! I know! I'll move to Mehrunes Dagon's realm! It's nice and warm there... :obliviongate:

Yeah, it's windy here in NE Fl as well. Heavy rain forecast for tomorrow, plus weather advisories. My kids are on spring break and not terribly pleased about it.

Maybe try Oregon or Washington State. My sister moved there and I hear it's nice.

Also she says people go crazy there if they see just a little snow. Snow is foreign to them.

A country without snow? Well I hear Libya is nice this time of year. Would you like Bullets and Mortar shells with that blood and death?

But, since what happened a week or so ago, I don't want ANOTHER rain storm.

Yeah NE FL (around Jacksonville area at least) has 15% chance for severe weather and 50% chance for any weather at all. But it most likely will happen, at least something (even if it isn't strong/severe) but for NE, only during afternoon and evening hours. The storms you might get tonight are isolated (20-30% chance, only gets you if you're an unlucky person by nature :P ) so if your kids have plans for the morning it shouldn't be too bad.

Where as NW FL will have storms to deal with tonight and tomorrow morning (before 2 pm) but afterwards all should be fine.

Granted that all can change in 12 hours so who knows!

http://www.abc3340.com/

I had a lot of storms here (around Pittsburgh) recently but only one put down a tornado near me and that was around the beginning of the month I think. Lots of flooding and landslides though since the ground is so saturated.

Edit: Just watching the feed they said multiple fatalities in Alabama due to tornadoes.
