Anyone Concerned That Nords Will be Favored? : V - Skyrim

I'm sure it'll be like Morrowind: 50% Nords and the remainder in about equal proportions. Nothing wrong with that.

They should be favored...Even though the Nord is a common fantasy concept it'll still be very interesting since its TES's take on it. So I'm excited to see how they depict their homeland.

Agreed but it will have other races too, every provence should all favor their own races and customs.

Not concerned. Not in the least. I'll reiterate what everyone else is voicing--it's the Nord's motherland. More focus would naturally be put on them, as the Dunmer in Morrowind. Unless you mean attention to detail as far as modeling, texturing and gear goes. But I'm sure they'll get just as much attention from that perspective, as Bethesda always does a great job of that. The only thing I missed in Oblivion was the digigrade legs from Morrowind.

My opinion seems to be the prevailing one- that the Nords deserve their homeland for their culture. Just as Morrowind was nearly completely focused on Dunmer culture.

I DO expect, however, to gain significant glances into post Red Year Dunmeri society, since a lot of refugees probably landed in Whiterun (which has always been sort of a "Little Morrowind" in Skyrim anyways).

That's expected. Skyrim is the Nord homeland, after all...and honestly, how many Argonians would there really be in such a place?

Let me ask you this, Dragonborn1, how favored was your dunmer character in Morrowind, and how favored was your imperial character in Oblivion?

The only answer I can come up with is that they only had the slight advantage of being liked more than other races, due to being the majority race. I just hope Beth is able to create such a memorable culture and experience equaling that of Morrowind at the very least. I mean, why else are the dunmer so popular? They had the best screen time in Morrowind.

Wasn't the population of Morrowind like 60% Dunmer, then like 20% Imperial and the rest spread out? That worked, so it can work for Skyrim too.

I'd be very disappointed if they weren't favored. The thing I'm worried about is there being only like 10 Argonians.

The point of race-specific provinces is to be race-specific... So of course we will see more Nords than Argonians or Bosmer, because it is - tada! Norway. If you travel to Africa, you don't expect to see an equal distribution of Whites, Blacks, Asians all other in between, do you?

I thought it was 50% dunmer, 50% everyone else, with the imperials making up the majority of rest.

I think if anything it'd be a good thing. I mean i usualy play as a nord but sometimes a woodelf, and its always fun being diffrent and espically the culture makes roleplaying enjoyable for me.

I hope they're favored. It's their homeland. Dunmer were favored in Morrowind because it was their homeland, the storyline was about Dunmer, and they made up the population majority. If the game didn't favor the Nords, I would be disappointed.

Morrowind had Dunmers, Oblivion had Imperials and Skyrim will have Nords. It's there country and history, of course they'll have extra attention.

Not at all each individual has there favorite race and I say let them play as that race I think I see what your getting at though. The Nord are going to be strong beyond so many levels.

i'm a little more concerned the dunmer are going to be the only race people will be using... a new dynasty of dunmeer ruling tamriel? why does that just seem wrong...

Don't worry, the dunmer almost went extinct bwahahaha. Not really though, but alot of them died bwahahahaah.
