Is anyone doing new playthroughs of oblivion?
I'm still working on my fifth playthrough, now at 4,000+ hours. It's a great game. And welcome to the forum. I'd give you a traditional fishy stick, but I never got one myself, so I don't know where to get one.
Far too many, in my case. I probably wouldn't keep starting up characters if it weren't for http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/37382/, though, the tutorial dungeon doesn't bear much repeating. I seem to have about 5 characters on the go right now, which means they don't progress too fast, but that's fine by me. (They do grow up so quickly, don't they?)
Oh, and welcome - here's a http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/tesfanon/images/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20081112192239. (I don't know if it's canonical, but they all taste the same to me...)
As a matter of fact, I am. I have plans to do the Fighters Guild and Knights of the Nine. I haven't done the Fighter Guild in nearly a decade and I've never done KotN.
I'm diddling while I try to decide whether I want to use Oscuro-plus-Martigen, Maskar's overhual, or my heavily-tweaked version of Waalx items and creatures mod. I'm kind of leaning toward Maskar, since I'm already planning to use his Basic Needs and Basic Hygiene and camping mods. If I do, I'll call it my "Maskar 500" game.
I have the character created and ready to go. I just have to make up my mind about these damn overhauls. Decisions, decisions, decisions...
I started my first playthrough a few weeks ago, almost vanilla but with an abandoned shack mod to call my home and the addition of the portable camping mod for when I'm out in the wilds. Mainly just exploring, and having a blast
New? Not me. My over five year old (second) play-through is still a going concern, though admittedly its mostly inactive at the moment. Then again, I've done little gaming of any sort lately.
New? Well, my current playthrough is a pretty recent startup. Trying to play as a cleric-type - Restoration and Blunt as primaries, Breton with The Mage as a birthsign. He's doing the Mage's Guild questline right now. Won't be joining Fighters or Thieves' Guilds, nor Arena. He hasn't done the main quest other than the two Kvatch quests, and left Martin sitting safely in the refugee camp. He's just been mainly randomly wandering about and dungeon diving. He recently got to the point where money is meaningless, and just found the last piece to complete his Master level alchemy gear. I am not sure if he will go much further since from here on it would just be a rehash of the MQ which I've done enough to where I know what to expect.. He has been running around in various pieces of armor but I may drop him back to robe and hood to add some challenge back in.
I've just finished another playthrough with the Champion of Cyrodiil, completing the main quest for the 2nd time, for the 1st time it was in 2007/08. Since this playthrough was a recollection of events written in a book being read by the Orc librarian from the College of WInterhold, I concluded the Champion's tale once the Oblivion Crisis was over. These days I prefer (as I like to call them) short stories and then moving on to a new adventure, instead of having long-lasting characters.
Just like Pseron, I never did KoTN and only made it halfway through the Fighters Guild so Intended to tackle with one of those but then I saw that the http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/17448/? mod was updated, its problematic issues resolved so I decided to try it out.
I am! I play off and on every few days, sometimes in a most binge like manner. Actually its not a new character though, he is a remake of my original character, I started prepping this character in late 2012, got him efficiently leveled, acquired many items and a house, created both an invisible and a mages suit, joined the Mages guild and made some spells. I finally decided to play Oblivion again and started doing all the quests with him two months ago! I've been having just as much fun with it as I did so very long ago.
No, I do not plan any new playthrough of Oblivion.
Yeah, I′m sure I messed up your whole world with that statement
