Anyone Else Annoyed About New Companion System?

I liked having Fawkes with me. He was like an extra back pack to carry all my junk :)

I see someone else had the same idea ^

To my understanding each companion will have their own quest arc that you can do and when you do it, it will have many benefits. They also add perks which make it a lot more interesting...

I am not a huge fan of companions in FO3, but if in FNV they are as useful as in FO2 then imah be happy. And I think the new companion wheel feature is pretty good, managing companions through dialogue was boring and not useful at all.

Hmm, to be honest, I've never been using companions much in the entire fallout series, prefering to be a bit of a lonewolf. But that's because I've found them harder to manage than companions in other game such as the Baldurs gate series and so forth. You can't give'em stimpacks, weapons or armor - expect by reverse-pickpocketing and that can be a bit tedious. Main problem with it, however, is that because you can't "help" them to become stronger/more useful by giving'em stimpacks, armor & new weapons, it means they're in most cases going to die... fairly easily  . There's also other problem, such as an un-stealthy approach and so forth that I'm sure has been brought up.

However, if there's a system in the game which allows you to help'em become stronger like this and so forth, then I may be inclined to pick up one companion or two during the course of the game. Especially if they have their own thing going, instead of being only our hirelings of sort :)

well I have good news then, with the new companion wheel your just one click away from accessing your companions inventory, allowing you to give them all they need to suit up for battle.

The only time I'll have companions with is when I do their quests but I do like how the Companion system is improved, I hated it in Fallout 3.

actually so far as we know companions are no more necessary then they where in Fallout 3, it′s just they been made to work better and rewards those who do pick them up. But your not handicapped if you skip them and go solo.

Indeed, as far as I can understand, companions are not any more important than in Fallout 3, Obsidian has just tried to improve the system so that if you do choose to take a companion with you, it will be easier to make effective use of them and have them not be a burden. Which, I'd think, you would be pleased to hear about if you didn't like having a companion in Fallout 3, at least if it's because they could at times be more troublesome than helpful, which was my biggest problem with having a companion.

I know I, at least, look forward to seeing if traveling with companions will be more enjoyable with the new companion system.
